Most of us would be considered "early adopters" of Sony's Move, but what about Sony's other big push, 3D TVs.
I have to admit, I've never even seen one, but the thought of wearing some glasses to play or watch doesn't interest me. Even those TVs that claim to be 3D without glasses hold little interest, especially if the price is high (I really have no idea, so disinterested, never bothered to check.)
I guess the point of this post is just to ask if anyone has one or is seriously considering getting one in the next 12 months. I mean, there was a patch this morning for NBA 2K11 that would seem to suggest it now is 3D compatible. But just what is the demand/market for this technology at this point?
EDIT: I noticed the 1.30 update to NBA 2K11 this morning and downloaded it while I made this post originally. Now, I've tried playing the game and it has locked both times on me, requiring a hard boot to clear. Previously, I've played nearly 200 games on both my and my firend's system without a hiccup, now the game is unplayable. I won't try again until there is a fix, I don't like rebooting my PS3 like that.

I have really been considering upgrading to a 3D Bravia. My problem is that I just bought my Bravia EX700 40" a few months ago... I really don't want to spend more then "$1,500" personally. I know Amazon has that deel where you get a free 3d kit and Ps3 with one though. I would be able to sell the ps3 and my current Bravia making the 55" cost around $1,200.
That is all it comes down to me.. cost. I would LOVE to play Gran Turismo 5 in 3D, but in all honestly, that is the only current game I really care about being in 3D. Games like Killzone 3 will probably be much more fun in 3D compared to the 2D counterpart.
Final thought: 3D without glasses just doesn't work nearly as well as it does with glasses currently. I've done some head-tracking tests with a Wii mote and even got to try out the 3DS a bit, but it just doesn't compare to active shutter 3D.
Interesting fact: I was going to actually order one next week... but have decided to wait longer and buy a Kawasaki Ninja 600r instead

From vicious giant insects who have once again come back

I tried one at PC Richards & Son and they're not bad. Though my eyes hurt a little bit but thats probably cause I was a bit close. (Hope this doesn't effect me 3DS-wise D:)
I tried a 3DTV at Best Buy, while playing some basketball game on the PS3. I didn't like it much. Seemed blurry, and kinda flat, though it could just be that game. 3D might be cool, but is it just a gimmick?
3D TV actually isn't doing to hot in the market still. I'm thinking that it's a trend and even Sony will eventually move away from it. Smart Tv seems to be really hot at the moment.
I've actually gotten to try Motorstorm Apocalypse in 3D on a 50" Bravia, and while at first it was really great, the constant blurr and the fact that I get migraines from 3D had me thinking differently.
*Funny little addition is that 3 girls right next to me were not able to see the 3D effect, which is actually quite a common scenario.
@Nathan... Ninja 600 is the better choice. I've been riding for close to 10yrs and nothing compares.

Its true the new stereoscopic 3d technology is still in it's infant stages and most of the 2010 models 3dtvs the tech was not quite ready yet. Alot of the 3dtv have different problems that can cause flickering and ghosting images that cause headaches and eye strain. But then I saw the CES award winning Panasonic VT25 3dtv and I was blown away. The 3d effects it produces are so damn convincing and realistic it amazes me every time I turn it on. And without all of the side effects that most of the other 3dtvs have. When 3d gaming on the ps3 the graphics look so futuristic its truely mind blowing. Its true some 3d games are not as good as others. NBA2K11 is definately high on the list. When the 3d settings are set high it looks as if there is a minuature basketball stadium right there in my living room. On GT5 the driving is so realistic that your adrenaline starts pumping before you are going to crash as if it was really going to happen in real life. On The Fight Lights Out watching the replays are amazing. You can actually wrap your hands around your fighters head as it sticks out the TV, almost being able to grasp him physically. As far as price goes if your lucky you can find one on sale for the same price as a 2DTV. Well thats my 2 cents. If you havent seen one yet its a must you go at least look at one on display at Best Buy. And trust me seeing is believing.
I've used the 3D stuff for a few games, such as HOTD on Move and GoW3 on Xbox. The 3D "works" but its not brilliant, I can't see it being widely used until everything is glasses free.
That said, the depth of field is really useful in games like GoW3, I think it will become popular, but not until the technology is seemless and glasses free... so another 5 years probably.
I think the 3DS has proved that there is something in 3D, it does add a depth, however the technology needs to be good enough - even the 3DS has some major problems.
