@LN78 one of the rare examples in TV where the show actually gets even better once the source material dries up…..

As I understand it, season 1 is basically in line with the original book/novel. Then seasons 2 and 3 were totally ‘original’ and IMO even stronger!

Carrie Coon is phenomenal, and the side-plot with the cult (Guilty Revenants?) is something I could actually envisage in real life!

With Leftovers and Watchmen under his belt, Damon Lindelof is back on top

@CJD87 Yeah the first season is basically the book with a few superficial changes (Kevin Garvey is the mayor in the novel for example) so I was surprised when I read it was going to continue. Very glad it did, though - it had a few moments that genuinely touched on the profound. I didn't like the "Watchmen" series at all (one episode excepted) but I think that's largely down to the comic series being one of my favourite things that I've read ever since I first picked it up in the early 90's. Every attempt to embellish, adapt or expand upon it has fallen completely flat in my opinion.

@LN78 for sure, Watchmen (TV) was incredibly divisive upon release - and really split the fan base. I’ll always recall that Damon L wrote an ‘open letter’ to fans of the graphic novel prior to the show’s release… basically apologising before it had even aired!

I have familiarity with the source material, and read the original graphic novel + watched the Snyder movie. Funnily enough the movie didn’t grab me at all… but equally, the level of ambition needed to cram a comic of that size into a 3hr film is impossible!

I can see how die-hard fans of the comic would take umbridge with some elements of the Tv show, but I enjoyed it for the most part! I loved Jeremy Irons as an older and more jaded Adrian Veidt.

But we can certainly agree that the Leftovers is one of the greats, it’s in my top 3 along with the Wire & Succession

@CJD87 Don't get me started on that Snyder movie! Agreed on "The Wire" but the jury's still out on "Succession" even though the three seasons so far have been exceptional. I go back and forward between "Mad Men" and "The Sopranos" as my other Top 3 pick!

@CJD87 Nice. I hope I’m not leading you astray. If you like Uncharted 1-3, you can be confident that you’ll probably like the Legacy of Thieves latter collection even better. I’ll be interested how you get along with it, and with The Last of Us.

And along with @LN78 thanks for the Leftovers recommendation. Good to know. I still owe a watching of The Sopranos, so I need to prioritize. The Leftovers actually sounds more up my alley content-wise.

@nomither6 No, this one’s a different type of spinoff from the gatcha mobile game. It’s a 4 player multiplayer action RPG developed by Cygames after Platinum left the project. Not another 2D fighter by ArcSys like Versus was.

@nomither6 as @nessisonett mentioned it’s an action RPG. There has been vids released since this one… but check out the gameplay from FOUR YEARS AGO. Goes to show how people are a little miffed at yet another delay:

**** DLC!

Lavalera

@colonelkilgore I hope when it releases it still looks as good as that. I was really interested in that game and seeing it delayed is a bummer. But oh well let's hope it is as good as it looks

@colonelkilgore Why would a delay even matter to you? It would take you five years to start playing it! 😂

Anyway, I'm not sure why delays are perceived as a bad thing. Surely people that will play the game in day one want the game in a playable state. Release dates are such a broken concept these days, when the majority of games are delayed anyway.

@colonelkilgore Of course not.

@JudgeDredd Didn't that delayed too and was supposed to come out in 2020?

I just got my PS5, so I have a lot of catching up to do with games that are already out, and checking out PS5 upgrades for some of my PS4 games first. But of games that are supposed to release in 2022, I'm certainly looking forward to Forespoken and Hogwarts the most.

After that, of the ones that are plausible in 2023, my main ones are Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Jedi Survivor, and My Time at Sandrock.
