@Yousef-
RDR2 is a fantastic game but the first hour or two is a trudge, quite literally.
Perhaps role playing might help, cook up some beans, boil a pot of chicory coffee and chew on some tobacco, oh and don’t forget the bowl preferably tin for that authentic sound.
Seriously though it is an amazing engrossing game.
@Th3solution 😂 yeah sorry matey, there’s a reason I hold back a LOT, cuz I’m undeniably the worst.
The good part is that I’m never shut off, I do turn out to liking games I previously disliked, so it’s not hopeless! (Unless your name is mafia 😂)
@CaptD the captain and the colonel giving valuable advice back to back, I’ll keep in mind!
Playing Xenoblade, feel free to add me on switch or steam.

@Yousef- Well, I’m guilty of some similar transgressions against the gaming fandom. 😅
I mean, speaking of R* we have discussed my apathy for GTA in the past, so I have gone against the grain with my poor opinion of the largest game franchise in the world. Not to mention other beloved games I failed to get into like Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and speaking of AC games, Black Flag is the only one I actively disliked! 😅
But it is definitely a ‘time and place’ issue and also an expectations issue for many highly acclaimed games that don’t click with us. Often it just needs another attempt when the timing is right and where there’s an appropriate preparation for what’s to come. So for example I have read a few Witcher novels in preparation for trying Witcher 3 again. I’m not sure when I’ll get to it but I feel pretty good about the game working for me the next time as now I know what the world is all about.
For RDR2, that opening is rough. And the first 20 times you bend over to pick something up, like your hat, you wonder why in the blazes the animations take so long and why Arthur moves so slow and awkward. But then you start to get it. And when you realize that you go to a town and the NPCs recognize you from when you were there before, you start to understand the depth of the game. And when you start to understand who Arthur Morgan is, and what his redemption arc is all about, you grow to love the guy.

@Th3solution I honestly think you’re totally fine!!
I’d say another thing is that I don’t like cowboy stuff except the dollar trilogy films if you’ve seen them.

@Yousef- Yeah, honestly I’m not much of a Western/Cowboy fan either. I think I’ve seen parts of some of the ‘Dollar Trilogy’, I may have seen the entirely to ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” but I’m not sure. Of course I’m well aware of the iconic musical track.

@BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN Been keeping current with your Jedi: Survivor progress updates, and hope you're continuing to enjoy the experience. It's the kinda game where you'll regularly feel things ramp up, only for you to realise afterwards that you've still got plenty more to go. Have fun!

@Th3solution Yikes! I don't recall Forbidden West suffering any major progress-blocking glitches, at least not the last time I played it post-launch. I'm real sorry you had such a miserable session with it, and can totally understand how that might knock your enthusiasm (especially after returning from a long break). Here's hoping you're able to get back on the robo-horse quick enough, and that your next couple sessions remind you of what you've always loved about the series, and Sony's first-party output in general. At least it sounds like the story's grabbing you, which is always great to hear!
