@Yousef- The roster on the original is so much better. It feels more like a traditional warriors game too. Whereas Age of Calamity felt more like Breath of the wild repurposed. Not bad, Just not a warriors game at heart.

@Elodin i havent played a Empires verison in ageeeees! I cant even remember what you do in them?
Its to do with battle planning and such isnt it? Taking over territory etc etc? right?

@Mes_Urson Yes, empires still have the great battles, but outside that there is Strategic Planning. Its not hard-core strategy, but enough to make it effect your decisions and outcomes. Do you add more troops, train the troops you have, or workon persuading officers to join you. Fun lite-strategy along with the actual battles. Talking about it,makes me want to jump in again. I think I'll re-download the latest lol.

@Yousef- Theres a new one out as well isn't there on the Switch 2? I think thats the in same vane as AoC right too?

I forget how big WO4 Ultimate is. I played it all weekend and have scratched any other games modes apart from story. I get a bit obsessed with leveling everyone up and looking for the best characters.
Gaia is complete broken. She just removed 50% of the map with here C4 attack. And then it builds the super meter too and removes even more. Its hillarious

@Yousef- Agreed! its definitely a trap to make you buy the new switch. If they can port other games onto switch that are on PS5 and what not, im sure they can easily do switch at the cost of graphic fidelity or something?
Just a big shame, because this day an age, the currenty economy and everything going up in price I just cant justify that purchase.
I got my switch original on offer years n years ago. Offers now are a joke! They think increasing the prices and then giving a discount of the original price is an "offer".

@Yousef- I do love my PS5 and some playstation titles, but with the way they are treating the fan i dont hold any allegiances.
If i hadnt bought so many games over the years i'd probably jump ship super quick!
Steamdeck definitely looks like a promising choice too! If i could find one for the right price i'd be on it!

@Mes_Urson I am a huge fan. My favorite is probably DW Gundam 3. It’s somewhat repetitive, but perfect for relaxing while listening to a podcast. There are many different Gundam generations to unlock, which keeps it engaging. I also have a soft spot for the Kens Rage games. The mechanics are straightforward, making them easy to jump into and complete levels without much hassle.

DW Origins is boss. The later levels with 1000 man armies all in full sight is something to behold, compared to the older games with pop in and enemies disappearing randomly. It's just a pity you are stuck with the same main character for the whole game.

@themcnoisy Hey, good to hear from another fan! I completely forgot about the DW Gundam series.
I think last one i played was DW Gundam 3 on PS3 i think it was? I absolutely loved it too if remember correctly. Definitely going to have to get that one out and play again i think!

I would love another Kens Rage game. I think i remember playing the a demo of it but never got round to the actual game. I did play RGGs Fist of the North star Lost Paradise which i thought was excellent. Would actually kill for a sequel on to that on one of the new engines too.

DW origins really does capture that 1000 man army feel right? When your all rushing in toward an army too. I do love these little moments. The pop in / pop out of all DW series has always been a pet peeve of mine but also a small hilarity too!

Has anyone played the Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2 games? I did enjoy those too. I really liked the 2nd one. Had some fun battles and i liked the team aspect of it too. Wouldnt mind seeing 3rd entry for this too.

@Mes_Urson yup played DQ heroes 1. It was alright.

I think, as long as you like the source material (Gundam / DQ / Zelda) and the mechanics add a bit of variety you can enjoy most of the series. I'm not a fan of Zelda or DQ so they both fell flat. Gundam, One Piece and the actual dynasty warriors are more my liking and I enjoy them all. It's a bit like the Lego games in that way. Loved Star Wars and Marvel, happy to leave Pirates of the Carribbean at the first level.

Yeah. They have like a foundational formula.
I checked my game catalogue. it was DW gundam 2 i've got. I did love that one. Is DW gundam 3 worth it?
I've always wanted to get into one piece. i feel like theres so much lore that i'd never catch up on so i find it a bit overwhelming and haven't gotten involved.
I'd probably feel that way if I hadn't watched Dragonball, Z, GT, Super from the beginning to be honest too!
