Persoanlly think they did a really good job at capturing her look, Grace will be voiced by Jeannie Tirado, who also voiced Rosemary Winters (which really surprised). Real talk though I think Jeannie is killing it as Grace and can see winning the voice actor award at the end of the year.
@Oram77 I agree that's an interesting choice to use the same voice artist as Rose, especially when some people early on were mistaking Grace for Rose. I wonder if she will slightly alter her voice.
They certainly know how to pick pretty faces for these modern REs. I'm still slightly disappointed new Jill has only had one game. Hopefully she might appear in remake of the original. Maybe even a cameo in Requiem.
I also hope RE2R Claire face/voice is used for the CV remake.
@BearsEatBeets I can definitely see Jill getting another main line game she is just way too popular at this point. In regards to Claire I wasn't biggest fan of her remake look, but I would imagine they'd use it for the CVX remake so all the RE engine games have continuity, like what they are doing with Leon.
@Oram77 Yeah it would make most sense to keep them the same for continuity but I'm not going to take anything for granted. If I can get a remake series of 1-4 (including CV & 0 as a bonus) in the same continuous style I'll personally be super happy.
If it wasn't so close to the release of Requiem I'd ponder a reveal for CV on Thursday's big SoP. I suppose it could still help boost interest and attention on the series but I imagine keeping full focus on the new game is most likely.
@BearsEatBeets I know people want a re-remake of RE1 but it breaks my heart as to RE1R is one of the greatest remakes ever made. BUT if they do decide to redo it again I can 100% see them doing zero at the same and making one big cohesive story line, as there a few plot holes in both of those games. Either way with RE9 just around the corner and CVX remake in the works* now is the best time ever to be an RE fan!
@Oram77 I can understand the appreciation for the original RE remaster, it still holds up remarkably well for it's age. I just think a remake with graphics/camera and gameplay of the 2/3/4 remakes could be even better. It wouldn't take anything away from the original, it still exists.
RE1 and RE2 were seminal games that mean a lot to me but I still preferred the RE2 remake to the original.
Anyway, yeah the series is good health and long may it continue.
The final trailer was great. I didn't catch it during the SoP but going by people's comments on the trailer the person communicating with Leon (briefly seen from behind at 2min mark) is Sherry.
Apparently if I had played RE6 (The only one I've skipped) I might have noticed easier.
I knew it was sherry from trailer 2 because it's the same voice actress from RE6, but yeah honestly the game is looking incredible, I really can't wait anymore!
@Oram77 that makes sense why everyone in the comments was mentioning it. I always skipped 6 as I found 5 had already lurched too far into a pure action game and everything hinted 6 was even more so. I still enjoyed 5 somewhat even if it was my least favourite so maybe I'll see how cheap 6 is going and give it a go. It could help to fill the wait for Requiem and fill any relevant gaps I have in the lore.
I saw RE6 was only £4 so I took a punt. It seems I was right to avoid it, it's been pretty poor so far. Not soo bad I'll stop playing but it's very easily the franchise low point. The start is so quick-time heavy it's crazy.
At least this should help me appreciate Requiem even more.
@BearsEatBeets Yeah they definitely jumped the shark with 6, especially with Chris' campaign, Leon's isn't too bad and Sherry's being in the "best", there are things to like about the game for sure (though not many) but it will always be remembered as the jack of all trades master at none title.
@Oram77 I did Leon's campaign first and I've just finished it playing as Helena. It was clearly designed to be played co-op. Trying to interact with cranks and things whilst relying on the AI to protect you was limited in it's effectiveness. The inventory layout is terribly designed as well, once you are up to 4 or 5 weapons which you can only access by scrolling though the list it is really tricky to select a specific weapon quickly. Plus quite a few times I would try to select a grenade in a rush only to find myself spraying myself with a first-aid spray wasting it.
That final boss fight went on far too long.
I can't say I'm eager to start Chris' campaign if that is worse 😄.
Oh well it's truly making me grateful thank Capcom was able to salvage the franchise.
I think Capcom has released too many trailers for the game, but nevertheless, it looks fantastic. Playing as Leon always feels good regardless of which entry he is in, and he always seems to have another damsel in distress to protect. I really hope Grace’s segments are handled well, and provide the perfect dichotomy between the two, while also not lacking in being compelling.
@Kraven I was coming here to say exactly that about the trailers! Yeah I know I don't have to watch them, but then some of the podcasts I listen/watch have been talking about what was in them, so it is a bit difficult to avoid at times. I probably won't get to this for ages as I've some other spooky games I want to play before, so hopefully I would have forgotten most of the stuff by then.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
