@nessisonett,

Been trying to get one for a while and will not pay over the odds on principle, if they came to around £500 ish on e-bay I may be tempted, but guess it's Argos next, with their 3.00 in the morning restocks .

Good luck by the way, as I feel the amount of consoles available each time is being over estimated by a country mile.

If you are in the UK, try registering your interest with SimplyGames. I did that and have been offered the chance to buy a bundle - can only find them from the email they send to those registered. My bundle was 3 games (CoD, WD:L & CP2077 - although they also offered a Racing bundle inc Dirt 5 and a couple of motorbike racers and a CP2077, Demon Souls & MK11. All came with an extra controller and some Unofficial Docking stations, headsets and/or Plug and Charge cable.

I ended up paying £670 for the Disc drive PS5, those 3 games, extra Controller and a £20 Venom twin docking station. Not much of a saving on buying all separately - but at least I bought from a reputable retailer with the added protection of Warranty.

It maybe worth considering registering if you want a bundle and they are strictly limited to 1 per address and only to those registered and receive an email...

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

@johnvboy No probs.

I bought my Series X for Day 1 by registering my interest with SimplyGames and could of bought a PS5 Bundle around Christmas but I didn't have the funds and the games were all ones I already owned or didn't want. However, its the only Site that I have been offered a chance to add these consoles to my cart for purchase.

Good Luck...

@BAMozzy I wish there was a U.S. retailer that did it that way. I’d be willing to buy a bundle and spend a little extra if it were from a legit retailer. Heck, the price you paid is still cheaper than a lot of the EBay scalper prices for just the console alone. You can always recoup a little of the cost by selling any games you don’t want.

If anyone knows a U.S. store that does this registration/ wait list type of thing, let me know.

I started up the Outriders demo and got to the shooting range. There is light use of the haptic feedback, but nothing for triggers. Not even basic implementation. I was kinda disappointed so I turned it off since it was late. It feels like such a basic feature, particularly that we are past 2020, to put in the game. It kinda puts me off from the game a bit.

So the ps5 has been out for almost 4 months now! What's been the best game you've played on the console? (doesn't have to be an exclusive)

He/Him

MaulTsir

@Jackpaza0508 The Last of Us , I didn't play it on the ps4 but man what a beautiful game the graphics and load times really made me appreciate the ps5. The game its self was brilliant I enjoyed the story.

MaulTsir

Jackpaza0508

Spider-Man Miles Morales was awesome, if a bit short. Immortals fenyx rising is a fun time and even sackboy was good even if it was a bit boring at the end

@Jackpaza0508 Astro's Playroom was great. Also played through Jedi Fallen Order and Days Gone, didn't have the chance to finish those on PS4. Both are great games.

Here’s a question for you lucky dogs who have a PS5 — what’s your experience with the game help feature of PS5? Has anyone used that much? The best I understand it, the tool is supposed to help you make progress if you’re stuck, find hidden collectibles, or track progress toward and help finish trophies. It’s basically like looking up PowerPyx or Gamefaqs directly baked into the game, correct?

I’m not sure how I feel about this. In a lot of ways it kind of defeats the purpose. Yet I’d be lying to say I didn’t search for guides on some of these hard to find objectives or difficult to beat bosses. Especially with trophies I resort to guides not infrequently.

Anyways, apologies if it’s been discussed before and I missed it, but how do you like the feature so far?

@Th3solution Honestly I can count on one hand the amount of times I used the game help feature, I used it for Astro's Playroom a time or two to find a puzzle piece.

But on the other hand the activities cards I use often, but it was a change I had to force into being a habit. For example if I'm playing Persona 5 and I get an urge to play MK11, I can go load straight into online matchmaking with the press of one button. Or if I felt like playing Nioh I can load up the last shrine I rested at in a manner of 5 secs. It's actually a really nice feature, but I had to re-enforce the way I use my console for it to be useful.

@Jackpaza0508 I'm late, but best game I've played is hands down Persona 5 Royal. Obviously was released on PS4 but this was my first experience and I absolutely adore it.

But from a technical standpoint, a game that all around looks great and use the PS5 capabilities the most in the market right now is Black Ops Cold War. When you're playing it at 4k/120fps (or 60fps with raytracing), with 3d audio and haptic feedback it definitely "feels" next gen.

@TraCuz- So, is the card feature kind of like when you put your PS4 in rest mode? I’m unclear how this differs from having a save file to jump into. So like, there isn’t a game save created but it’s more like pausing a game where you are so that you can resume later? How does this affect things in online dependent games? Will it keep you in the lobby of a multiplayer game if you switch back to Persona 5? Or asynchronous multiplayer like Dark Souls, etc. how would that work if you jump from game to game?

Sorry if this has been answered forty times already but I have a couple of Qs in preparation for getting one of these thing fork-lifted into my living room.

Question the first: is the PS5 more stable now via updates and everything? I know there was a lot of talk of crashes etc.

Question the second: how long does it take to transfer everything over via WiFi? Is it better to get a wire?

@Th3solution My bad if I caused confusion, first things first cards are only for PS5 games so I'm unable to switch to Persona via cards. It's not quite like rest mode where you'll pick up exactly where you left. It works more off of saves/checkpoints, and also some games have more cards than others. Nioh for example only has 2.

For Nioh one card will launch me right at the last shrine I rested at and the other is an optional side quest

For MK11 one card gives me the option to pick back up in the story or a few other individually named "Casual match, Ranked match, King of the Hill, etc."

For Cold War it once again has the option to resume at my last checkpoint in campaign or choose "Team deathmatch, domination, kill confirmed, etc" to jump straight into a match.

For Miles Morales one card will be the main story or several others with percentages of how close you are to completing the challenges (combat, stealth, and traversal challenges).

Let's say I just booted up the PS5 knowing I wanna play a quick match of TDM. I'd just simply choose the card rather than going thru the COD menus. After that match I realize I'm in the mood for Nioh, I can load my last checkpoint with a card rather than thru the menus. After switching games each one is closed and is cold booted everytime. It's noticeably faster but once again it took me to train myself to use them.

@johncalmc I can't answer your second question as I have my wired in, but with regards to the first question I haven't had any issues with mine thus far since release.. ya the front USB port wouldn't let me charge my controller, but that was quickly patched and works fine now.

@johncalmc What's up friend! I'm happy to report to you that my console has not crashed on me since about week 2 or 3 back in November. They did a decent job getting those updates rolled out.

But I will say that sometimes (very rarely it's only happened 2-3 times to me since November) on the profile select screen after selecting one to log into the profiles dissapear like it's going to load my home screen like normal but instead it gets stuck on that gray ui screen, then I have to use the power button on the console to turn it off. Once it turns back on everything is normal.

I've also noticed that sometimes when I power the system on from rest mode that the colors are dampened, almost like the HDR is turned off? I'm not really sure what this one is about but afterwards I just restart the console and the color is back to normal. This one has happened to me around 5-7 times since launch.

But besides the console crashes at launch, these are the only issues I've personally experienced. Hope this helps!
