23 hours played and only 15% done 😳.

finally did a few main missions and I'm all In for this story it's right up my street, saw my first clawstrider tonight boy are they vicious!

Hard mode seems a lot harder this time so I've been relaxing with taking screenshots instead. Going for more personal shots rather than landscape ones.

Advanced the plot far enough to be faced with a selection of MacGuffins to go after. Oh boy, just what I want to see after AC Valhalla.

Just picked up the last ‘metroidvania’-like ability, so I can now access pretty much every area… now to remember all those metal flower locations 🤔

@colonelkilgore Pretty sure they should be on your map? They’re marked as “blocked path (missing tool)” on mine.

Are the Firegleam locations on the map supposed to disappear or turn green once you've completed them? They keep showing up on my map like I still need to unlock them, and it's confusing trying to remember which one I've already done or not.

@Octane Yeah, they’re definitely supposed to and they did for me for a while but then they all came back. Clearly a bug.

In other news I cleaned a lvl 40 outpost at lvl 28. To be fair I didn’t know it was lvl 40 until I attacked it

@Voltan Great... There's a ruin I have completed as well, but it still says ''unknown ruins (completed)'' lol.

I just managed to take down the Thunderjaw. I'm level 18 or something like that. Required a lot of running, hiding and a bunch of traps, but it went down in the end.

Ooooh I figured out how the disc thrower thingy works. The discs come back, you have to move a little to the side to catch them. If you manage to catch the same one 3 times in a row, it becomes charge and deals big explosive damage on the next hit.
Neat.

Some of the random encounters I have had have been the most fun I have had with the game. I love that "standard" enemies can flat out wreak you if you aren't careful.

45h in, it only continues to get better. Haven’t even seen half the map yet

I’m over 55 hours now and only on 45%. I keep knocking quests off the list but seem to add 2 more for every one I do. I’ve not even had a chance to get into machine strike yet either. Fair play to anyone who’s got the platinum already as they must have been really racking up the hours.

Finally cracked using the gauntlet and it’s pretty good. It won’t replace the bow anytime soon but it’s interesting at least.

This game is absolutely freaking massive. Almost 30 hours in now and wondering around the area where there is my second Tallneck.

I've just done a quest and heard some tribal bloke say the term, "bag 'em and tag 'em". He must've found some old TV cop show footage in an ancient ruin or something.

I was originally planning on it but I know exactly what you mean. I’m now thinking of slipping something a bit more linear (and short) in between them.

I’ve got Cyberpunk to play as well as this and ER so the rest of this year might be very open world heavy.

People still going on about Elden Ring on this thread.

Let's be honest, I was right about the reviews going overboard. ER isn't the greatest game ever made, far from it. Almost got banned for daring to suggest this but I knew the hyperbole was too much.

As for HFW, I'm really trying hard not to fast travel at all in this game at least not until I've finished the main story. I'm also not wanting to play it every available second, keen on enjoying it in small bites as opposed to gorging myself to the point where I may start to feel a bit sick of it.

Everything in moderation, I guess.
