@Oram77 honestly! Last time I fought a bear it was one of those mini world events you get with a little character interaction, and the bear wrecked me about 15 times before I could put it down π¬ i'd dodge and dodge and it'd grab me as my dodge ended and if I tried one attack it'd come right back so fast. So no more mentions of bears haha. And yeah, combat can be brutal at times. Some duels definitely need replaying a few times. And it seems like one mistake is really punishing on hard. I stood still in one duel to see what the deal was, and it is literally 2 or 3 hits and you're done, and you get hit 2 or 3 times if you miss one perfect parry π
I'm still in region 2.5 (The firey west coast) And I unlocked a pretty sweet armour that I could instantly upgrade to top tier because of all my riches. It has the benefits of the bounty hunter (bigger perfect parry window) but without the drawbacks (miss a perfect parry and it still regular parries) so I feel like i'm sorted for armour now. I still rock my level 2 lone wolf for the aesthetic when travelling and in the wilds, but it feels like the Undying armour is the armour of choice for duelling.
Glad it stayed good for you all the way through. I'm still having a blast with it, and the second region definitely feeds more of the main story beats. I still have literally no idea how anyone completed it in 16 hours with side content, as mentioned earlier. There is so much cool content in the game and it is not a game that suits ignoring that content.

I'm finding it interesting that quite a few people are saying they prefer the story in Tsushima. Obviously it is subjective, but I do wonder will they still be saying that after they have completed the game?
Atsu is a f***ing badass. The more I play the more I like her. Great job on the character, and the overall design is top notch, once again, so we can show off how much of a badass she is!
@Ravix Yeah you are way better with the photo mode then I was, the second to last one is literally wall paper worthy!
Yeah like I said before Atsu is a superior character to Jin (no shade to him). I was really concerned going into the game thinking she was going to be one note the whole time, but NO they succeeded in subverting my expectation. This maybe recency bias but she got into my top 10 female characters in gaming!
@Oram77 haha thanks π«‘ honestly it is a lot of luck at times. I was wrapping up with the game today when I got a little mini event pop up (I won't spoil the little interaction that ensued as people might stumble on to it themselves) anyway, I ended up near this tree on a cliff, so I thought I'll have a scan to see what it looks like on photomode before I shut the game down. Had a mess around with the Maple filter as my armour has the red streaks for the character shots. Then messed about with the weather and saw the tree hanging over was lit really nicely, and thought "well, that looks like a good spot" π
I saw someone elses photomode fare the other day and was absolutely blown away, like, if you think a few of my shots look decent, you should see this guy's, they are basically a photomode pro hobbiest. And I have been meaning to try some shots influenced by those, and I was slapped down to earth by how difficult to achieve some of their ideas were in the game π so I will stick with my light and shadow style, and my character shots, for now. as I genuinely still can't get my head around how they found some of the gems they managed. It is akin to watching someone carving something amazing out of marble, but you only being able to see the block of marble with no idea where to start. I can't remember their ID, but I think they are quite known and prolific in the gaming community (or the photomode subsection) think they have a YouTube, but I saw them posted on r/photomodephantoms the other day. Insane what they can do
I noticed doing some shrine platforming and photo mode shenanigans that the Jump animation in all Sucker Punch games is the same as Sly Coopers. I think it's a cute reuse of a good animation.
Hard mode really hurts. It didn't take a lot of attempts, but i'm not sure I was enjoying the absolute onslaught from my first real yotei 6 boss fight. You are under constant pressure in an instant, and one mistimed parry and you're locked in to a cycle of healing and trying to get a second to breathe. I'm glad it had a halfway checkpoint to save replaying the whole fight, but in a way, not, as I had to down two jars of sake every time the second fight starts due to scraping through part one on my first attempt leaving me weakened for part 2. I beat him after a few pained attempts after using up all my spirit and having a thin crescent of spirit left, so I knew one shot would basically end me, and it was absolutely horrible getting through the last 30 seconds knowing I didn't want to go back again if I made a mistake ππ
I think i've finally grasped the importance of breaking their stance at least, as you barely damage them until you stagger and smash through their guard, it seems. Man, they attack so much! And if you are low on health or items it really is squeeky bum time for getting the timing of all your parries and dodges right as you wait for that one opening where you can attack them. Damn, they attack so fast and ofen π¬ I need a cup of tea and a cuddle π
@Ravix Glad to see someone else suffering on hard mode too! Yeah the enemies just don't let up and constantly pressurise you and their combos go on for days Honestly the worst enemy type are the ones with the Kusarigama (my blood is boiling just thinking of them again). Going back to boss fights, like I said in my previous comment, I got really frustrated with some of the later boss fights, because their move sets are crazy and hard mode is basically a two tap, so it tainted my enjoyment when they should be some of the most awesome/hype moments in the game!
Don't get me started on gaming steelbooks, you swines! I thought Sony had packed it in, to be honest. Do they just release steelbooks randomly sometimes on direct or something?
No, i'm not interested, stop it π
You feeling the urge to get on the Yotei train yet? Or you playing something different for now, Shoulder San?

@Ravix They did them a few years ago on PS4, but they seem to phased them out for this gen. Maybe as part of a collectors editions, but I'm unsure. I seem to remember they came out quite late in the PS4 gen, so maybe they will do the same this time round.
I used the money I saved to get Battlefield 6 instead. Probs wont get to this for awhile.

@Elfuggingjefe Congratz on the completion π, While I personally liked the ending, would love to discuss it, but for obvious reasons we can't (plus I don't know how to do the spoiler text thingy)
@Oram77 FYI, the spoiler tags are done with placing (spoiler) at the beginning of the comment and the (/spoiler) at the end, except instead of parentheses ( and ), use brackets [ and ].
So like this
You can use the quote function to pull up my post and it will show the tagging features, if my explanation is still confusing. π
