@colonelkilgore
The dlc provides NG+ and isn’t required for plat.
The thing is I’m not sure what it provides other than NG+ but it isn’t cheap (I think just under £20 or something like that). It is a bit dirty and there are additional dlc trophies tied to it.
@CaptD I remember people complaining about having to pay for ng+ and it dawned on me that ng+ was required for Kiwami 1 & 2 so thought it might have been for this one too… good news that it isn’t.
Just at my local CeX looking for cheap steelbooks (I got the Avengers steelbook as it goes for £6) when I saw Left Alive for a couple of quid. I remembered it had a monumentally bad reaction back when it released but something made me take a second look today… probably the MGS-inspired cover art-style.
So I thought I’d check the metacritic just to ensure that I remembered correctly about its universal panning. I was right… its critic score was an abysmal 37 and I was just about to put it back when I noticed the user score… it was a more than decent 81. I thought **** it I can take a deeper delve into the potential for it being somewhat of an underrated gem when I have more time but at £2, I should buy it while I’m there.
Just watched some gameplay and it looks alright to be fair… and read some user reviews across metacritic, Reddit and GameFAQ’s etc. and it seems that while it is a bit rough on the production side of things that it’s pretty solid and that a lot of the critic reaction may have been due to its rock-hard difficulty. Not gonna lie, it has me quite intrigued.
@PeaceSalad yeah that art-style man, so unique and evocative… they knew what they were doing when they hired Shinkawa.
Still not entirely convinced by it, so not sure that I’ll play it or not yet… definitely thinking there’s probably more to it than reviewers could be arsed to find though.
@PeaceSalad I have TWD final season and started it but never finished it. I’ve been meaning to go back to it. You probably know already, but the final season isn’t an automatic platinum for completing the game like the first 3 seasons were. There are missable trophies this time. I discovered that I already screwed up my platinum when I was playing it and that did take the wind out of my sails. I still want to complete it though, even without the plat, since I genuinely like the characters and the story.
I played the demo of Octopath 2 a couple years ago now and thought it looked absolutely gorgeous & I liked the combat mechanics too. Got it for £23 or so. Shame the first Octo is digital only on PlayStation.
Eternights... I thought it looked interesting when it was shown in that one PlayStation event that showed off the filthiest dialogue option I've ever seen of "handholding"
Got it for only £12 or so and should be a fun enough little stopgap sorta game?

@HallowMoonshadow Based on what I've heard, Octopath 1 is flatly inferior to the sequel in almost every way, so I don't think you're missing much by not playing it anyway.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah@HallowMoonshadow While I haven't played the original and still have Octopath Traveller 2 in my backlog, it doesn't matter if you've played the original. I believe they aren't connected to eachother in any way.

I finally gave in and purchased a physical copy of Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. With the ringing endorsement of @BlAcK_Sw0rDsMaN , amongst many others (it seems like I’ve heard a lot of praise for the game lately, surprisingly since it’s such an older game), I feel like I do need to have it in my FromSoft collection. Copies of it are quite rare to find out there in the wild, and I went back to a second hand shop I had seen one at a few weeks ago and fortunately it was still there. Picked it up for $42, which is steep for a 6 year old pre-owned game, but it has really held its value, as most FromSoft games do.
So I have copies of the full From Souls and Souls adjacent collection now on physical discs, except for Bloodborne, which I only have digitally. I keep thinking I’ll have the opportunity to buy a PS5 port for BB but it seems less likely that is going to happen. Maybe I need to just get a PS4 disc copy to complete the set. 😅
Incidentally, I don’t think I’ll change my immediate gaming schedule at all and so I’ll not play Sekiro until I’ve finished DS3 and ER. So it will be a while.

Cheap as chips purchases...
Figment £0.79
White shadows £1.59
And Flashout 3 £1.59. A wipeout clone. Let’s hope the music is good at least.
All look pretty good except for perhaps Flashout but hey a wipeout clone is the best we can hope for at this point.

Haven't bought it...YET. But at the end of this month...I'm getting Disgaea 6 Complete. In fact...I'm getting that and Disgaea 4 Complete, 5, and I'll be importing the JP version of Disgaea 7 Complete from Amazon JP. Granted...leaving Disgaea 5 Complete & 7 Complete on Switch aside...the PS4 versions has the advantage of letting me back-up my saves on a flash drive. Whereas the Switch versions don't...plus...Disgaea 4 Complete on Switch has gone up in price...dunno why...it's basically the same as the Vita version and...ah...forget it. I just buy the PS4 version regardless.
I'm getting back into PS4 gaming anyways...plus...PS4 versions of multi-plat games tend to be much, much cheaper anyhow...Yes I'll have to play on a tv instead of on-the-go...but backing up my save data is worth it.
