@graymamba
Well I hope some of the Russian gadgets in the Bond films made it over, perhaps, a nice pair of shoes with added poison knife or a nice Rolex watch with added choke wire.

My latest purchase is Forgotten Anne (about £1.50 on PSN store) which is probably a bit more wholesome and I doubt Anne will be whacking anyone, unless I get the opportunity.

@CaptD yeah I really hope that they play up to the Russian-ness of it all 😁.

Forgotten Anne eh… well that’s the second game in two days that I’ve never heard of before.

@graymamba I played it years ago, it's pretty janky but not unplayable. 1C originally were going to make it (Russian Dev) then it went to one in California.

These violent delights have violent ends & in their triumph die, like fire & powder Which, as they kiss, consume.

@GirlVersusGame no way, so it wasn’t even made by Russians? I don’t quite know why that disappoints me as much as it does.

@graymamba I thought you might say that, unfortunately it's all American takes on Russian'ness which I thought were pretty funny. They do games like Five Nights at Freddys. The original company mainly publish, everything from Blizzard to WB and Ubisoft, that's all done through 1C. If you've heard of IL-2 Sturmovik that's the same company, they developed that one. A lot of the Russian developed games stay in and around the region, I've played some really bad ones over the years. Those A.I. ones in the store on the PSN, lots of those are coming from Belarus which is probably why Sony removed so much junk lately. I don't know if they formally announced a reason for doing it but sanctions makes sense. Haggard Games were going to do your game under their Death to Spies series then I think funding fell through and it went to Maxim in America. It would have been the third in the series.

That's Haggard, they never updated the site. Those are the first two games before Alekhine's Gun.

@GirlVersusGame oh well, I’ll still play it at some point… but with slightly different expectations of what I’ll be getting. Glad that it still seemed to have made you giggle at least.

Cheers for the additional info… it’s an area of the gaming industry that I have very little knowledge of. I googled Death to Spies straight after reading your post… gutted it’s PC only 😔

@graymamba To be fair the history of that game, the publisher and the studio is really obscure. So much funding went through shell companies, the rights went back and forth like ping pong and now they are back with the original developer so a fourth game might show up sooner than later. The PC ones play a lot like the newer Sniper Elite games mixed with Hitman. One thing they got right were environments.

That's their latest Dev Diary for the newest installment of the series.

There are a lot of weird bootleg Hitman types on PC and I'd play none of them without a virtual machine unless you want someone snooping through your files and webcam. It's a really popular franchise back home, everyone I know looks like Agent 47 it's a popular look, I can think of three guys in this same building who do but who wouldn't know Sonic from Spyro. Even the movie was hugely popular, I liked it too and still do.

One of the best lines from the movie: Because that suitcase perfectly holds my Blaser Sniper Rifle, two .45s and a gag for irritating, talkative little girls like yourself. You want me to stop and get it out?

They knew their audience.
