Been grinding star points in the new Live Events optional match quests in MyRise for WWE 2K25 to unlock Psycho Sally, Cole Quinn, Super Invisible Cena and El Mago and the other masked guy.

I beat my first run through of MyRise by having the Comedic and Fun personality which didnt last that long in MyRise. Comedic and Fun personality felt out of place with the main story arc going on through this year's MyRise.

I still have alot of wrestlers to unlock in MyRise such as Steiner, modern day DDP and Medusa etc

Yeah the desolation is pretty extreme, perhaps they added coop to help.
It is quite an empty world but the cold drab nature was appealing, more of a winter game for me.
It certainly might have put people off but it released in a poor state as I recall although I didn’t play it until it had been patched, also it is quite unforgiving and pretty difficult at the beginning none of which helped.
Also you might want to look at a couple of trophies as one of them (postgraduate) is quite nasty in that it basically requires two characters and as all the characters use the same world, it might be worth getting it out of the way before the world “levels” up too much and gets difficult for a new character. It is a very weird system. The trophy guide explains it better.

@CaptD yeah I remember you mentioning the Postgraduate trophy back when you were playing it, so it’s at the forefront of my mind. Just mainlining my first character to a specialisation… and then as soon as I get that sorted, I’ll start my second character and mainline him to a specialisation too.

Had another couple of hours with Generation Zero today and making some decent progress. Managed to get the one multiplayer trophy squared away and most importantly have got my first character levelled up to a class specialisation and started a second character to fully level up a separate class for the Postgraduate trophy.

It really is a damn site better than the review scores would have you believe. To give you some context, its metacritic critic score is 45. Personally… and obviously this is me having only played around 5 hours, I’d be looking at scoring it somewhere between 6.5 - 7.5. Time is flying-by while I’m playing it and I’m looking forward to playing some more when I’m not.

Great stuff. Yes it is a shame that it didn’t seem to get the audience but they only recently delivered their final update to the game, which after six years is pretty good.
That is problem with Metacritic, there is no way to undo “that” score. Days Gone director would say the same.
Glad you got the MP trophy out of the way and I would have been happy to help if needed.

PS. The dlc is not too bad and is pretty cheap when on sale....so if you want that 100% and a 100% full of ultra rares.

@CaptD I appreciate that you would’ve been willing to chip in for the mp bud but wouldn’t want you to have go through with the reinstall etc if I was able to get it done with someone else who also needed it.

I doubt I’ll go for the dlc if I’m honest, even though I am enjoying the game quite a bit. I just have a bloated schedule full of games that I need to get to the moment my current is plat’d. I’m gonna enjoy the ride though, that’s for sure. And I appreciate you bringing the game up in the first place… it’s highly unlikely I’d have even tried it otherwise 🍻

@CaptD Postgraduate trophy done! 🥳 Light my Fire trophy glitched! 🤬

Apparently, I just need to keep climbing lighthouses though and it’ll eventually pop… buzzing about Postgraduate though, it’s been on my mind since starting the game. I can now just start levelling my character as I’d like 😅

Nice. I don’t think I had an issue with light my fire, I do recall having to get a few more collectibles than were required.
Good job on postgraduate. That one annoyed me because I felt I couldn’t really get into the game or a character build until it was done. I have seen people suggest leaving it until post game and just get the XP required by grabbing collectibles but I didn’t comfortable with that method.
PS. I didn’t save collectibles til the end or anything, I just picked up whatever along the way then sorted it out post game (mainly tapes I think which was no big deal).

Had my first proper sesh with Generation Zero today (y’kno… like an all-dayer) and really enjoyed my day-off. I do love a big open-world filled with danger and little exposition… just go out there and find your own solutions to the problems that arise.

I have suffered some performance issues though… and that’s after multiple patches and I’m playing on PS5. Thankfully it hasn’t happened in combat yet as I’d have no hope but it is a bit annoying when it strikes and then seemed to affect the frame-rate for around 5 minutes. Still, the positives far outweigh the negatives and if anyone added this with no intention of ever playing it when it was on +, it might be worth a second thought.

Having finished off the Gen Zero plat (& all dlc, which is most unlike me) I’ve decided it’s time for a souls-like. I only played the one last year (Nioh 2) due to me prioritising my ps3 backlog… so it feels about time.

I’ve decided to return to Lords of the Fallen (2014) to finish off its platinum, as I intend to play Lords of the Fallen (2023) later in the year and want the original squared-away first. So I wasn’t the biggest fan of it when I originally played it back in 2018, declaring it my least favourite souls-like… but I’m fairly enjoying my return to it this morning.

Even though I completed a pretty comprehensive playthrough of it 7 years back, there’s still a fair bit of work left to do for that shiny. I have to do another two playthroughs (one with each of the classes I didn’t choose previously) and be sure to select the correct options prior to the final boss to get the two remaining endings.

Gameplay-wise, it’s certainly earned it’s long-held nick-name of clunky-souls… but in this era of super-quick, parry-centric souls-likes, the molasses-like dodge-centric combat is a somewhat pleasant change of pace 😁.

After getting all the mp trophies squared away with @CaptD and @WhiteMoose yesterday, I made a start on the Livelock campaign this evening and while I suffered a few deaths… I’m making decent progress.

It’s a decent little twin-sticker that, while nowhere near the quality of the Housemarque …Nation games that influenced it… is more than good value for the 99p we all spent on it during the last sale.

Started Resident Evil Remake this morning and wow has the save system with no continues caused some frustration. I get that it’s the way games used to be and is intrinsic to the series but if you’re not used to it like me, it’s gonna take a bit of mental-rewiring. So between that and the camera-angles, which by themselves are fine but when moving from one statice angle to another my control of the character tends to go awry… it’s been a struggle.

Needless to say, I’ve already lost some progress a couple of times already but it’s all part of the experience I guess. Maybe I shouldn’t have gone straight in at Normal which is max difficulty from the off but I’ve started now… and maybe it’ll help me out with later playthroughs.

Apart from my Resi-noob quibbles, I’m enjoying it.

@graymamba I’m interested to see how you adjust and excited for you to be jumping into this beloved series.

The tank controls and save / typewriter ink ribbon system is definitely an adjustment. For some reason I was able to get through it and still enjoy RE1, but with RE4 I just threw in the towel. The Remakes fix these issues and for that reason I feel they are superior. Many people prefer the retro versions though, due to the higher stakes. But when you don’t have to constantly fight the camera, the controls, and the menus, it’s just so much more enjoyable. Implementation of periodic autosaves in the other remakes helps immensely too.

Still, there’s a charm to the RE Remake in that it still has the original feel, but amazingly the three other remakes going forward were able to balance keeping that original survivor horror feeling, campy dialogue and storyline, and yet also feel modern, intuitive to play, and much less frustrating to progress.

@HallowMoonshadow so my current plan (which is always subject to change) is to play RE Remake and RE2 Remake this year, Code Veronica and RE3 Remake next year… and then Zero and RE4 Remake the year after that. So all being well, I should hopefully get a nice blend of the old school and the new.

@Th3solution well this will definitely be a marathon rather than a sprint as I’ll have to play it through 5 or 6 times but I’ll definitely post something at the end of each playthrough at the very least. I can already tell that the Real Survivor playthrough is gonna be a ***** judging by the issues that I’m finding on Normal 😅.

@graymamba The first three games are surprisingly short once you know what you’re doing and where to go. I’ve never been one to do repeat playthroughs, but I could see how subsequent runs could be much quicker.

@HallowMoonshadow so I’m playing Jill first and trying to get all items, so I’ve already had to backtrack many more times through areas than I’d have liked… which obviously brings extra danger each time. I’m slowly getting to grips with it though, so I’m hoping that as the various runs go on I’ll feel more and more comfortable.

@Th3solution so I don’t know how far through it I am yet in regards to the overall game but I’ve fought a couple of what I would consider to be bosses. I fought a big snake about an hour ago and just beat this zombie that I released from a suspended coffin.

@graymamba
I pretty much followed the trophy guide with regards to my order of playthroughs, started with Chris knife only and I didn’t much like the zombie fight although it was worse when I couldn’t see him
Hope you are enjoying it, once you get over the controls and the prerendered screens swapping (again with the controls because releasing the movement stick and then pressing it again may result in you moving a different direction).
There is talk of it being remade but unless it is in the over the shoulder 3rd person style of RE2remake then I’m not sure that they should bother and even then I’m not convinced it will maintain the charm that RE1r has.

CaptD

psmr

@CaptD yeah I was umming and ahhing over which playthrough to do first but ended up going with Jill’s nooks and crannies 😉 as I thought it’d be a good way to get fully familiar with the map etc.

Anyway, I think it’s started to click for me a bit. Don’t think I died all afternoon and made some decent progress. Just electrocuted some massive shark and concocted some chemical cocktail that should kill some Audrey II. Looking forward to playing some more on the weekend.

@graymamba It’s been a couple years for me so I’ve forgotten the flow of events and encounters, but I recall the game taking about 12-15 hours.

Also, the story, as cheesy as it is, is surprisingly entertaining, actually. And although the overall storyline of the series as it goes along isn’t top tier, the first game’s story when taken on its own was probably the best, imo. They continue to bring back and reference a lot of the characters and beats from the first two games over and over, so it’s worth paying attention to the narrative, even though it’s mainly just a tropey zombie/monster fest.
