@AgentCooper cheers buddy, I know you’ve had a lot going on of late (all positive of course 😉) but it’s good to see you back around the place 👍

Just platinumed Criminal Girls: Invite Only on the PS Vita. I've played it before, but this is my first time fully completing it, and I was surprised by how fun it was this second go around. The low-budget presentation works well thanks to the game's crisp pixel art and vivid color palette, which complements the system's OLED screen nicely. The battle system, while unusual, has a pleasing tactical element to it that made boss fights engaging. The characters are also surprisingly well-developed. Crucially, it's one of those games where the platinum trophy guides you toward 100%ing all of the substantive content in the game, so there's no boring filler trophies to worry about in the process.

Too bad the softcore porn minigames, even censored, make it difficult to recommend to others.

@Ralizah Given the nature of the game, I'll resist the temptation to make a joke about the characters being "well-developed" and simply congratulate you on your new platinum!

@colonelkilgore Ta, It’s nice to steal those little moments and see what’s occurring 👍

Got myself a newborn so don’t know my arse from my elbow. Apologies if I seem tardy or incommunicative.

Platinum #111 - Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - what a game! I enjoyed it during my first playthrough a few years back but… returning to it was a minor revelation. Probably in my all-time top 10 games now if I’m honest!

Oh… and congrats @Ralizah, this one must’ve slipped me by for some reason 👍

I'm not too bothered about getting platinums or trophies in general but I did get the Age of Stars trophy in Elden Ring which I was well chuffed about. FromSoftware make you work for those endings.

My favorite thing to do is precisely nothing, to be perfectly idle. All of the problems in the world can be attributed to people doing things. If in doubt, do nothing :)

colonelkilgore

@xeofate yeah trophy hunting is a bit of a strange gaming-appendage. To some (like me) it is so complementary to the larger medium that it has amplified the enjoyment I get from gaming quite a bit (more than it actually should in all probability 😅). But for others, it’s a silly add-on with no real meaning or merit. It’s really a matter of horses-for-courses I think.

Anyway, well done on achieving the Age of Stars ending on Elden Ring, it was the most involved ending to get iirc 👍

@colonelkilgore I have no doubt that trophy hunting maximizes the enjoyment out of a game but when there's so many good games to play these days I find I don't have time to go after trophies in games. So rather than going in-depth on one game I go for a surface level playthrough on many games. It's just my preferred approach but I don't think one approach is better than the other.

@xeofate a perfectly understanding modus operandi. It comes down to personal enjoyment above all else when it comes to hobbies and pastimes such as video games.

@colonelkilgore Huge congratulations on yet another platinum! Always nice to re-appraise a game and come away with a higher opinion of it.

@xeofate Great work on earning that tough trophy! It doesn't always have to be platinum praise, y'know!

@colonelkilgore Congrats on that Sekiro platinum. I'm amazed that you managed to fly through that as quickly as you did. I need to get back to it as I did the first few bosses and then got subverted onto something else. I do enjoy the game but parrying is not my thing so makes it a lot harder but you are right what you say about it being the way to play the game.

@colonelkilgore Getting a platinum in Sekiro is some achievement, I'll be starting that game that in January but if I can just finish it that'll be achievement enough for me. You've got to have some serious skills to platinum a game like that. Congrats

@RogerRoger @render @xeofate appreciated guys, cheers👍!

@RogerRoger I read about your struggles on Sifu bud… and I was really struggling with one of Sekiro’s bosses at the time. When I finally beat him though the satisfaction was immense. Hopefully you’ll feel the same if you stick with it 👍

@render it was pretty much mainlining it on ng+ tbh buddy, as I’d done all the donkey-work back when I played through it the first time. It still took around 20-25 hours mind, as I got seriously held up by a few bosses. Definitely push yourself to parry though, I had to force myself… and while it still doesn’t feel totally natural to me, I certainly had some moments where it truly clicked and it felt glorious.

@xeofate well, I’ll be real interested to hear how you get on when you do mate. And definitely make use of the Sekiro OT thread on here as a resource… i along with many on here will be happy to help.

@colonelkilgore Thanks! I'll never be a trophy hunting machine like you are, but obtaining a platinum trophy is always a very nice way to cap off an otherwise satisfying gaming experience.

Particular congrats on Sekiro. Platting anything by FromSoft is a definite achievement.
