@jdv95 Not having a 100% completion to correlate with a platinum used to bother me, but now I don’t let it deter me from my platinum accomplishment. It’s getting fairly common and now more often than not there is DLC (Control), add-on content (Astrobot’s Playroom), post-release multiplayer modes (Ghost of Tsushima), post-release NG+ trophies (Spider-Man) which keep my platinum from registering 100%. It’s so common that I think it’s just become a secondary target now to 100% a game separate from getting the platinum. Of course there are also games which I’ve 100%ed (wow, I think I just made up a word) but yet have no platinum to show for it (Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, Inside, etc) so I guess it goes both ways.
Personally, I’m more motivated to go for the platinum and if I 100% something then it’s just icing on the cake. For example, I’m happy with my Astrobot platinum but I haven’t been bothered by the one time trial trophy in the add-on list that I can’t seem to get.

@nessisonett Yeah, the loss of game shops is a real shame as I always enjoyed popping in whenever I was in town. The pandemic has only accelerated the decline and now my local GAME is gone too. All that's left is CEX. There was a nice little indie store where I'm originally from, but I'm not sure if it's still around.
@RogerRoger I loved Electronics Boutique in the '90s! Those were the days when they actually stocked a wide range of titles and not just chart stuff, and only had small trays of pre-owned titles. HMV and Virgin were really good back then, too.
Was wondering if anyone here would be interested in partnering for getting the online trophy in Wreckfest... I had been trying to so it with team games as suggested in another forum but that doesn't seem to work
There were two GAME's locally until around 2 years ago, then one closed and now the other has relocated (from a largish store to a small department of a large department store). There is also a CEX.
I find that I make almost all my purchases from Amazon now sadly.
Used to have 2 GAME stores in the nearest town, plus another one in a Debenhams and a Gamestation. Only got one left before lockdown. Dunno if it is still there as I've not ventured that far since working from home. Most of my purchases these days (even before lockdown) are from a few trusted online sites or digitally.

@DualWielding I’m planning on getting it as I’ll eventually want to plat it (so I have been considering getting the online ones out of the way relatively soonish).
I’m neck-deep on TLoU multiplayer and Ashen atm but I’d be down in a couple of weeks?
@crimsontadpoles Yeah our remaining one is across the road from a CEX too. Seems to be that way on purpose if most cities have them in close proximity.
@crimsontadpoles@nessisonett Oh yeah, there is a CEX in my nearest town too, round the corner from HMV and GAME is a bit further down. And that is it apart from a smallish sainsbury store which has a very small selection of video games.

#34 with Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The NG+ run for the final trophy was pretty easy as I only had to focus on the main story which isn't that long at all.
Got my 16th Platinum for the FMV game Late Shift. It's easy to get as the gameplay is purely making story decisions, but it takes a bit of time since there's multiple endings to get, and no way to speed up or skip scenes.
And not trophies exactly, but I did go back to Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair again and grab all the achievements I had previously missed.
Latest Platinum achieved today > The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan
I played this back when it first came out in 2019, but after one go through I was a bit disappointed it wasn't up to snuff. But after getting the plat for Until Dawn early this year I decided I might as well go for the series and I'm glad I did as I found it better this time having to see most of the choice permutations, also knowing what to expect helps.
I'm hoping Little Hope has a better story as I will be starting that one soonish.
Mass Effect 2 was my first ever platinum way back in the day on PS3. I got it again in the Legendary collection thing. Much easier the second time around thanks to the trophy changes.
@johncalmc cool, I was planning on playing through the Legendary trilogy anyway but didn’t know if I had it in me to go through all of the old trophy requirements having played 1 and 2 thoroughly previously. The fact the plat has been made a bit less time consuming means I’ll probably try for all 3.
@colonelkilgore the trophy lists are much easier and all three games can be just about platinumed in one playthrough (3 requires you to do the first 2 missions of a second playthrough).
@johncalmc good to know, I really enjoyed them back in the day but my gaming tastes have changed a little since then. Whether it’s no longer to my taste or if it still hits the mark, I know I’ll love experiencing the story again either way... and I’ll be interested to see how it ends as I never actually finished 3 for some strange reason.
Got the platinum trophy at the end of Persona 5 Royal. Definitely my favorite game in the series to date, and the ease of achieving the trophy is nice after how insane the requirements were for platting the original game. And no grindy nonsense, either, like the navigation line trophy in P4G.
Seeing that trophy pop is a really satisfying way to end a playthrough.
Yesterday I got the platinum for The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope
I liked this story better than Man of Medan, they also made the QTE's easier by giving prompts, but there was this one point where it crashed every single time. Luckily the first 3 times this happened I could just start the game and continue my playthrough from the last save point which was only a minute or two beforehand. Okay no worries. But the 4th and 6th times it occurred it decided to completely corrupt my save data and considering it happens around half way through the game, that's a couple hours lost. And I only had one trophy left to get. The second time it corrupted my save I was starting to get really pissed. That one trophy took me 12 hours to get. I also made some mistaken choices of my own which just compounded the frustration. Depending on when the mistake happens, it's quicker to just finish the game and reload that chapter instead of starting over. And then it still wouldn't pop for reasons.
I started at 9am and by 9pm I was really starting to hate the game, which was disappointing because I really did enjoy it. By this stage I was ready to quit, but after checking out guides all day, a comment on youtube caught my attention. So I reloaded a save of a Solo - Curator's Cut playthrough I had done that day, went to the museum chapter and within 20 seconds I popped the trophy. Seeing the plat come up was a big relief but also an empty feeling. Needless to say I quickly ejected the disc and deleted the game off my PS5 storage.
