If you are the least into arcade shooters, buy Resogun. It's short but has fantastic gameplay, is challanging and very addictive! Also check out Rocket league!
@the-madprofessor: Check out PSN as they have alot of fun indie games that don't run too much. Also if your are into fighting games Ultra Street Fighter IV is only 25 dollars I believe. Another get game that you can find for about 20 dollars is InFamous Second Son one of the PS4'S best looking games.

Divinity Original Sin! Just cleared it tonight, took me over 120 hours and the last 10 were a bit of a drag but what a game! Wont be diving back into it in a hurry. Exhausting!
@TripleGK: Buy it. Disgaea 5 will last you all gen. I've stopped at world 4 for a bit - but will dive back in next year. But with Disgaea that's fine in my opinion. As you like anime you will be fine with the aesthetics - just be aware its still Disgaea so the graphics are pixelated at times and a bit old school for some tastes. That said the gameplay is great and perfect for some tactical chess like downtime. Depending on the price and also dependant if you have played it before - Disgaea 4 may be more suitable as it was only £10 in a sale recently. But as the only real option other than xcom to come to consoles in recent times if you can find it for a fair price order it!

If you want a decent warriors game - One Piece Pirates Warriors 3 is pretty good.
It has more in common with a regular Dynasty Warriors game than a lot of the spin offs (gundam / fist etc) due to the gameplay tenants being ported almost identically - although the levelling and skills are upgraded a tad differently. The stages are a bit basic but there's none of the weird blurring going on that inhabited the extreme legends game I played early this year. Luffy is a great character and I can understand the allure of the anime franchise now - because I too want to become the greatest pirate in the world.

@TripleGK: Definitely a tine sink. I've put loads of time into really stupid things - item world in a bog standard gun for about 6 hours, replaying the first chapter 3/4 times to get better at the attacks, trying to keep my lower levelled characters up in exp. All a waste of time when other things open up later on, its on my radar to play alongside Driveclub and Witcher 3 in January.

@kyleforrester87: Ok, thanks! I've been interested in Wolfenstein the New order for a while, maybe it's time to buy it now. Have you played battlefield 4? Have been on the fence many times with that one.
@DestinationPs: at that price, new order is highly recommended. It's up there with Half-Life for me. But maybe the story won't resonate with everyone so well.
I didn't care for Battlefield, the story was very average and the multiplayer is more at home on PC as far as I'm concerned. But loads of people play it, and the network issues that surrounded it at launch are all sorted as far as I'm aware, so maybe it's up your street. Not really played any CoD but I reckon I'd take that over Battlefield if I had to choose personally. Of course, the best tactical online shooter will always be CounterStrike on PC
@kyleforrester87: Sounds great, you have convinced me about Wolfenstein. Halflife is the best fps I have ever played and I don't think the story is that important in fps games, gameplay is what really matters imo.
@DestinationPs: Hope you enjoy it, maybe it was one of those "right place at the right time" kind of games for me, having appeared when the catalogue was a bit thinner
@DestinationPs: Wolfenstein is a good game - its quite old school but has a modern twist. You can usually approach the combat from totally stealth to all guns blazing but still retains old school things like having to press buttons to pick ammo/health etc up. Story is typically 'Wolfenstein'
Destiny is a good co-op FPS game - can get a bit boring solo and the 'story' isn't that great (the lore is very good though). Its game-play is excellent and quite addictive too. Its my most played game ever. The Taken King includes Destiny and its 2 yr1 expansions and can be bought for under £30 so that is great value in my eyes.
CoD:BO3 is probably the best MP FPS game - its the best CoD this gen and also has Zombies and a 4player co-op campaign too. If CoD isn't your thing, Battlefield 4 is still going strong. Battlefront looks stunning but feels very shallow - like its aimed at novice online players

My opinion it's just a cash in on people's nostalgia for the original Battlefront games. I guess if your a fan of Battlefield or CoD games you would enjoy it but, if you're looking for a single player Star Wars game pick something else.

@Tasuki: Can't agree with your more here - Battlefront seemed rushed out to tie in with the film, and it's pretty shallow gameplay-wise. If you want a good Star Wars shooter, then Battlefront 2 is a whole lot better, and if you play it on PC you can upgrade the textures with mods.

I would say that for CoD and Battlefield fans, this would be very disappointing. The game-play itself is very basic and shallow. It seems more to be for Star Wars fans that don't play FPS games like CoD or Battlefield. Its certainly not for the hardcore online FPS fan. It lacks any strategic game-play as well as any variation (like Battlefields Class system or CoD's variety of weapons/perks etc that can change your 'role'). It lacks a lot of the depth and content options that previous Battlefront games offered too so its very disappointing for fans of those too.
It does feel 'rushed' as if Dice spent the majority of time on the visuals and then suddenly realised they needed to make a game and had a 'deadline' dictated by the movies release.
If you like Star Wars, don't play online FPS games and want a basic, shallow and relatively simple shooter, this isn't bad and maybe I would recommend it under these circumstances. It's also one of those games you could play with a young-ish child co-operatively but IF you are not a novice at online shooters (particularly Battlefield as that has vehicles too) this will get boring very quickly - It feels very dumbed down.
Like I said, visually this game is incredible but the 2 'big modes' only have 5 (now) maps and the smaller modes only have 9 maps (since the Battle of Jakku released). The new mode in BoJ has only 1 map. Its offline/SP content is limited to 5 training missions - lasting no more than 8-10mins each, a limited survival mode and 'combat training' against AI (these can also be played co-op online too) so there isn't much to do outside of that MP. It has 11 primary weapons (no attachments or much variety between these) and 24 Star Cards (your grenades, secondary weapons, jump pack and specialisation/perk) of which you can equip 3 - 1 perk/specialisation and 2 others so you couldn't have jump pack, sniper rifle and a grenade). The other unlocks are purely cosmetic and don't offer that much - different heads/haircuts on storm-troopers/rebels and a few alien heads for the rebels too. It also has some 'emotes' but I think these seem out of place in this game. I know several people that have basically unlocked all game based unlocks by level 40 and now only have 'cosmetics' to unlock (IF they wanted) but most stick with a certain head. I struggle to see this game lasting into the new year. Its maybe lasted longer than I expected because of the Battle of Jakku maps, the film and Christmas but unless Dice add some more significant free content, I don't see it lasting much longer. Being predominantly online, it is heavily reliant on the community and I see the majority of that community seeking out more involved and deeper FPS experiences with more content/options etc.

Conquest Large (32 vs 32) is great, chaos all around you. Love it.
Don't like CoD, but BF is really, really good. I still play it now and then (lately more so, because my gamebuddies have either CoD or Fallout 4, and I dont like either).
