@icecube Yeah, I was asking because there are a couple of locations that can fit in that category. Like, was it in a hotel, did you drop in the elevator shaft before you got there? Was in the the sewers? Just Joel and Ellie, or where there any other characters with you? At the end of the game, right before the final part there is an underground part as well. So maybe you were literally at the very end!
TLOU and Uncharted have things in common, like the strong narrative, but they also differ in some areas. The gameplay is definitely more slow-paced in TLOU. And the focus is more on survival and stealth. In Uncharted you pick up guns left and right and you almost never have to worry about ammo, but in TLOU every bullet counts. Personally I prefer TLOU because it's more gratifying when you do clear an area, it's also more tense as well.
@icecube I'm the same as you with TLOU. I bought it on PS3 but got it free when I bought the PS4, and I never got into it.
It's maybe the subject matter. It gave me vibes of The Road and I found it quite depressing. I also think the format of storytelling ie it being told like a movie or TV show with long cutscenes, was a choice that I found kind of jarring in a video game.
I feel like so much time has passed and I'm so out of the loop when it comes to the praise and hype.
@icecube I wouldn't worry too much about not liking a game, regardless of how popular it is or well recieved it is. You can't possibly like every game out there. There are plenty of other games you can play.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy I've never played a Crash game! I've been tempted to buy CTR as I fancied a fun arcadey racer from time to time, but have yet to pull the trigger.

@JohnnyShoulder Wowza, the Crash trilogy remake is still great fun even without the nostalgia value if you’re into old school platformers and it almost always on sale.
I got so burnt out with the whole grandprix thing @JohnnyShoulder.
I did one fully, took part in two others and then never played it again... It was way too much 😅
The fact that's basically all over now does mean of course you can just play it at your own pace and lesiure.
Still have to deal with the pit stop and there's a LOT of stuff on there now if you want to unlock a specific character/car etc... but is a nice arcadey racer and I was enjoying it when I wasn't getting bogged down with the onliney stuff.
The N.Sane collection is naturally also pretty good value for the original three platforming games, especially if you get that on offer too
Not really into old school platformers these days, @Thrillho & @Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy! I fancy them now and again, and even then it will be only for a quick blast. I think Crash came along just as I was getting into more mature stuff like GTA 3 and Metal Gear Solid.
Thanks for the info on CTR, Foxy! That should come in useful if I decide to get it. Think I was put off when Activision added in microtransactions after reviews which left a bit of a bad taste in the mouth, but I think I'm over that now!

With both Tony Hawk and Skate making comebacks, I think my life is complete. I kinda feel bad for the Skater XL and Session devs though, the community was totally behind them but they’ll absolutely switch to the AAA games as long as they aren’t as bad as THPS5.
I think crimsontadpoles or Ralphdibny could probably give you more info about Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled as they played it a bit longer then I did...
I think there's over 40 tracks now in game and well over 50 characters... Beenox were supposed to be releasing more characters and tracks even though they stopped the grand prix stuff.
They added a couple more modes as well from what I recall.
I never played the online multiplayer either...

@JohnnyShoulder Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a pretty good game. There's plenty of content in it, as it now contains 40 tracks and has different modes such as a story mode, arena battles, and time trials.
It's worth pointing out that CTR is a more technical game than the likes of Mario Kart. There's a bigger focus on drifting as much as possible to keep the speed boosts active for as long as possible.
The shop system and the adding of microtransactions after launch were my main problems with the game. Collecting enough wumpa coins to buy things in the shop is fairly tedious in single player (multiplayer games can be a bit better at earning wumpa coins). Microtransactions are used as a quick way to earn wumpa coins. The shop also only has a small selection of items available for sale at any one time. If you're after something specific, then it could take a while before you see it in the shop.
I loved CTR back in the day and I have fond memories of playing the game with my sister back in the day. But the micro transactions plus the Grand Prix mode being a bit too close to “games as a service” put me off the remake.
Has the YouTube app on anyone's PS4 become unbearably slow lately. Not the playing of videos themselves but severe lagging when scrolling. having to press buttons 2 or 3 times to register etc. It's definitely not my network as YT works 100% fine on other devices and my PS4's are connected via LAN. Both my Slim and Pro are having issues with it, just curious if anyone else has been.
Just been perusing The Game Collection and discovered Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 6 are going to be added to the Playstation Hits selection on Friday. They have them for pre-order at £13.95 so I'm tempted. Anyone else been waiting for a sale on this titles, Friday might be the time.
@Wavey84 I've been playing Doom Eternal but personally I much prefer the 2016 game, the levels are more coherent and for me more enjoyable to explore. In the new game it has more variety but seems like a jumbled mess at times and I felt like I was just trying to balance brightly coloured bars more than just shooting demons
Older than I care to remember but have been gaming since owning a wooden Atari 2600 and played pretty much everything inbetween.
