Topic: Tagging too many people

I'm hosting a poll here on the forums, and I'd love to notify users here whenever there's a new voting round, but I can't tag that many people all at once (we're talking about a big number).

I totally get why there is some kind of limit on it, but on the other hand, many of those users would like to be kept up to date with whenever there's a new chance to vote. Is there something we can work out here?

Maybe a variation on watching a topic which would only notify when the thread creator posted?
