Topic: Playing your save file at a friend’s house

I have been taking my PS4 to friend’s house to play my saved games since they don’t do memory cards anymore like in the PS1 and PS2 era. I don’t have PS Plus to use cloud save feature but read that another option is to use a USB stick that basically works like a memory card. Has anyone else used this method in order to play your PS4 saved data on another PS4? Just wanted to confirm this works without a PS Plus so I can decide whether to purchase the USB stick. Thanks in advance.

@Don thing is you would also need to put your account on his or hers PS4 in order for the save file to work, you might as well just keep taking your PS4 round it's just as easy as messing around with accounts and USB sticks

@Don Not sure if it works without ps+, but that is something I used to do when using my dad's PS4 before he upgraded his internet. I've set up my profile on his PS4, I don't sign in everytime but I have setup a 4 digit I enter everytime I switch to my profile.

It should work without ps+, it is only cloud saves you need it for as far as I'm aware.

Having a profile on another PS4 shouldn’t be an issue as long as I log out in the end. It’s so much easier to not having to disconnect, transport and reconnect a console each time with the risk of dropping it by accident.

Ok thanks I’ll give it a try. I wish they still use memory cards as a save option it would be much more convenient. Maybe it’s the trophies that makes it not possible since it’s tied to the account?

@Don usb sticks work the same way as memory cards, so I don't really see the need for them. USB sticks are more common these days and more universally accepted than memory cards, as there are different types of memory cards which might not work depending on the system you have.
