I’ve just smashed my original controller (my fault)bought a new controller and it has crazy drift from the 30 minutes of use if I use the wire to connect to the ps5 it works . can anyone help an old bloke
To clarify, the controller only works at all when it's plugged into the console?
Or the controller works but the stick drift is only present when it ISN'T plugged in?
If it's the latter I'd be suspicious it isn't something physical (I've had controllers develop drift because of cat hair for example); that would make me think something funky is going on electronically, in which case try doing a controller firmware update (see instructions here: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/hardware/accessorie...
If that's not the issue, or it only works when plugged into the console it sounds like it has a doggy battery or something; whatever the case may be I would personally be seeking an exchange after such a short amount of usage time.
