Hey folks, I have a gold PS4 controller that started to get a little ropey on the analogue controls. Being a bench tech. in my job I replaced these with some ebay specials, along with the usual rubbers and membraines and everything went ok.

However, a month or two later something has happened, almost like the calibration has changed. It means that the controls show little response until you move them quite far, then then the sensitivity curve increases rapidly..

It's not quite on/off, but it's almost as if the parameters have changed, what I would call joystick curves if that makes any sense!?

I suspect it's a processing issue as both controllers started behaving the same together.

Is there some sort of diagnostic tool for the controllers either on PS4 or PC?

Anyone any ideas?

Thanks.

Ok so I have managed to plug in to the PC. Looking under controllers it does appear to me as if the pots might be dodgy already.

Are generic controller joysticks a bit rubbish on ebay?

are we talking about non Sony brand controllers on eBay? If they aren't Sony, or a popular brand within the gaming world, and are incredibly cheap, I wouldn't buy it. I've always stuck to Sony controllers but have modded a few parts. Scuff, Razer, and a few other company´s like evil that sell custom/modded controllers are other options to the base Sony controller. I would never recommended a controller outside of these main ones I've listed.
