40+ PS5, PS4 Games to Buy in PS Store's Days of Play Sale (North America/Europe)

Is cheap the correct term? Not compared to Steam sales.

I just wish Playstation would follow Nintendo and price digital games differently. Digital games should be significantly cheaper than physical games, especially in a sale. These “sales” are getting worse, especially if you compare them to steam or physical. In the PS3/PS4 era the Days of Play sale was a bonanza of deep discounts. Now you can get most of the good stuff cheaper elsewhere. Expect it to get worse as Sony is going to monetise the player base in their walled garden. (Rant over..)

Generally speaking, the game discounts in this sale are not big enough to be tempting when balanced with my existing backlog.

@Joabra01Swe 100% agreed. Some of these are still cheaper or the same price physically. Persona 3 Reload was $19.99 on Amazon before it was put on sale for $23.99, just for example.

Divinity Original Sin (the first one) is on sale first time in, I don't know, years. 75% off.

Maybe you should include it too?

I just picked up Hell Is Us (the Deluxe Edition was £19.49 for me until the end of the day) and the Metro Saga Collection (£4.99 and includes Exodus Gold Edition alongside 2033 and Last Light). 😊

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is also 50% off - and it almost never goes on sale. Finally grabbed it!

I have about 30 games in my Wishlist and they are pretty much all on sale, except for Lego Horizon. Seems a pretty weird 1 for them to exclude. My library has it, I'll borrow it eventually.

I may pick up early access Tower of Agasbah, The Knightling, and Chrono Cross b/c under $10 is my sweet spot.

Depending on where you live its still more expensive than what you get on Xbox, Steam/GOG and even Switch.

@PneumaPilot I'd like to pick this up but at 45% off, it's still almost twice as much as it's been on sale on previous occasions. I feel like if I buy it at this price it would be £10 next time or be added to plus

@CielloArc I've been buying games on steam for at least a decade now. I still don't see the point bringing it up, because it's irrelevant. Also, Steam sales used to be far better than they are now (same with psn).

@Mr_B021 Brother between 83-85% of ps game sales are digital. They aren't going to make it cheaper where all their customers are buying games at, lol.

$20 for the Marvel vs Capcom Collection is great. Even if you're just casually interested in Fighting Games, the fact it has the Punisher Beat 'Em Up is awesome.

I never gamble with my game purchases but dammit, I decided to grab Baldur's Gate III... From everything I've seen, it's going to be right up my alley BUT I'm scared that some of the D&D systems might prove overwhelming at first. Still, I got it for 40 USD so I hope I don't regret it LMAO!

I just checked the sub deals and as much as I wasn't planning to resub to premium, I kind of have to if it costs only around $6 more. They REALLY want people on premium I guess.

@For-Kier that's not how it works. Just because ps players have no other option, it doesn't mean they will buy games at any price.

I realised that the games I want I just buy on day one or within a few weeks/patches. Games I brought on sale in the past just never get played.

Finally picked up Shadow of the Tomb Raider to complete the modern trilogy - 85% off.

Was thinking Metro Exodus but note the Saga bundle is only a couple of bucks more but Exodus is supposed to be the best and prettiest. But worth sacrificing a morning coffee or 2 and get the collection??

Katamari, Metro, are fine but even then for such prices.

Solar Ash/Shinobi are 'fine'.

Voice of Cards never heard of but seems 'ok'.

Yeah not a lot interesting here, nothing I'd buy anyway. I got my Katamari to try.

Metro if the next one is open world passing on it. Don't have Exodus as don't care to play it but did have fair time with the prior two.

Metro VR one seems fair.

I'll browse eshops a bit but even still, prices are eh and I wait it out or get things when I feel like it.

Okay... after all those years of avoiding I bought all Resident Evil games (except Requiem) for about £50

I'm very tempted by Death Stranding 2 but I'm worried I won't like the moment to moment gameplay. Even considered upgrading to Plus Premium for a month just to try the demo but lol NO.

I never played DS1 and a friend nearly quit gaming after playing it for 70hrs 😅

@Joabra01Swe Actually wrong. Discounts are about the same on all platforms.

@3Above You should play DS1 first, especially if you aren't sure if you would like it. You could probably find DS1 much cheaper and it's on Plus Extra as well.

If you don't like DS1, you won't like DS2.

@3Above Bought it, I enjoyed first one on the whole, DS2 is far better in all the friction points but I'd still play DS1 first especially if cheap.

@1970sGamer @SleepyNick Thanks for the advice! I should say that I've watched multiple story videos on DS1 so I have a grasp of the narrative. (Cause i figured id never play it) Obviously I've avoid spoilers for DS2 though.

Most of these sales have the same games every single time. Assassin's Creed Shadows is in every sale now and so is Astro Bot. Astro Bot only takes 10 hours to finish and they still want over £40 for it, what a joke.

@Mr_B021 Couldn't agree more with you. Also with more and more retail shops closing it is becoming harder to trade in your old games and buy pre-owned games.

@rjejr Lego Horizon was in one of the recent sales, because I got it myself then.

@emmettk90 I'm sure it's been on sale before, but not this 1. Since I'll be borrowing it from the library it doesn't matter to me just thought it was an odd exclusion. Thanks though.
