Pragmata (PS5)

  • 24th April

Capcom is on an unstoppable run right now, so who would even bet against Pragmata at this point? Fortunately, we’ve been lucky enough to play the game on several occasions now, and we can confirm it’s pretty superb. This third-person shooter’s unique twist is its hacking gameplay, which adds an extraordinary layer to the usual pop-and-stop shooting you find in these kinds of games

In an era of superhero abundance, we’re thrilled Invincible is getting a shot at fighting game stardom. Existing fans of Robert Kirkman’s comic will want to pick this up purely to see their favourite characters duke it out in this three-on-three brawler, but genre faithfuls may also be interested in this outing as it’s being developed by group of ex-Killer Instinct veterans.

Saros (PS5)

  • 30th April

Housemarque really is the fan favourite of the PS Studios family, isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, we all love Insomniac and Naughty Dog. But Housemarque is the enthusiast pick – the indie band we all love that mercifully still hasn’t had a number one hit. All that is to say we’re not expecting Saros to set cash registers alight in April, but its perfectly paced roguelite gameplay is going to be a delight, isn’t it?

007 First Light (PS5)

  • 27th May

Hitman dev IO Interactive and James Bond may be a match made in heaven, and we don’t have long to wait to find out. 007 First Light is coming fast, and everything we’ve seen so far shows a blend of Uncharted-style action and Agent 47-esque sandbox stealth. With a globe trotting campaign and some inventive set-pieces along the way, this project really does look like a dream come true.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (PS5)

  • 29th May

The thing about LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is that it looks and plays like a Batman game first and foremost. Allow us to clarify: there have been some LEGO titles which felt like a different skin of the same formula. But this release plays a lot like Rocksteady’s classic Arkham outings, albeit with a flippant sense of humour and all of the incarnations of the Dark Knight from over the years.

Phantom Blade Zero (PS5)

  • 9th September

It feels like every year now there’s a wildly impressive game coming out of China, and Phantom Blade Zero takes top billing in 2026. This console exclusive has looked more and more impressive with each showing, revealing unfathomable depth to both its combat and quest design. This one is going to be big, folks.

Marvel's Wolverine (PS5)

  • Fall 2026

It’s taken a long time to reach this point, but never ever count out Insomniac. The studio’s gone through some hardships making Marvel’s Wolverine, including a devastating hack which set its work back years. But Logan’s long-awaited arrival is almost here, and its gory first trailer looked incredible. We still need to learn a lot about this project, but given the sheer pedigree of the developer, we’re confident saying this will be a 2026 highlight.

Grand Theft Auto 6 (PS5)

  • 19th November

We’ve waited an entire console generation and change for this, but GTA 6 is close. Well, it’s not as close as it could have been, as Rockstar delayed the highly anticipated release out of its original May window. But that means the open world threatens to utterly dominate next Christmas, and frankly we’re looking forward to its seismic impact. Can it live up to expectations? Well, based on the trailers we’ve seen so far, never count out Rockstar. Either way, this game releasing is going to be the most important moment of the generation thus far.

Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve (PS5)

  • 2026

It's been about seven years since the release of Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the latest entry in the series that brought it back with a bang. Finally, Bandai Namco and Project Aces are following it up with Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, and we can't wait to get our jumpsuits on. These fighter jet action games excel with responsive controls, fun mission design, and larger-than-life stories delivered in a campy, anime style we love. Unless something goes very wrong, we can't seeing this being anything less than another banger.

Control Resonant (PS5)

  • 2026

While we don’t know a massive amount about Control Resonant, dev Remedy’s track record very much speaks for itself. We know this sequel will focus on the original game’s sibling Dylan Faden, and adopt a more melee-focused combat system compared to its predecessor’s third-person shooter gunplay. Wielding a weapon known as the ‘Aberrant’, which can shapeshift at will, we’re expecting a lot of variety to the gameplay which should pair nicely with the title’s open-ended structure.
