SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 on Playstation Portable Review.
If you’re looking for a multiplayer shooter on your Playstation Portable, SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 is probably the best you’re going to get. It’s a pretty staggering technical achievement, providing all the staples you’d expect from a standard console multiplayer shooter, on a system that fits inside your pocket. The campaign is fine, but it’s the multiplayer that’ll hook you.

SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 Is Finally Due To Hit In February.
It seems to have been subject to a never-ending list of delays, but Slant Six’s latest portable take on the SOCOM franchise, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3, is finally due for release on February 16th. It’ll be available on the Playstation Store and in retail outlets on UMD.
Amazingly, this Playstation Portable shooter will feature both 16-player online infrastructure multiplayer and four-player co-op. Dude.
Our initial impressions were very positive last year.

SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 Is A Fully Featured Online Shooter. On Your PSP.
The Playstation Blog has multiplayer details for the upcoming SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3. The game will feature 16-player competitive multiplayer across eight maps and seven modes. So, lots of stuff. The modes – which can be played locally or online – include “Leader Mode” where the team designate a captain and “Tug Of War”, a Battlefield-esque mode.
The game will feature clan modes, character customisation, tournaments and voice chat. It’s still a PSP game by the way.

Consider This A High Quality Asset Getting The Word Out.
SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 is one of those games we weren’t sure about. Just the whole concept of SOCOM on a PSP has never sounded too stellar to us. Then we played it, and came away pleasantly surprised. So we’re a little disappointed to see the game slip. It was originally due in late November but will now launch on January 12th.
SCEA Senior Producer Mark Rogers explained that the game is totally on time to meet its production deadline, but unfortunately the marketing for the game hasn’t been quite right. He explains, “some high value visual assets (screens and video) have only recently been made available to global marketing and we have decided to move the release and allow time to get the word out to everyone.”
Hopefully Slant Six can use those extra few weeks to give the game another spit of polish. We’re sure they’d rather put their game out on time, but hey, if you get an extra few weeks, why not work on making the product even better?
