Rumour: Killzone 3 Saying “Hi” In April 2011

Killzone 3 Might Still Be A Year Away If You Believe Some Sources.

Killzone 3 Might Still Be A Year Away If You Believe Some Sources.

Despite countless rumours suggesting that Killzone 3 is indeed coming this year, 1Up has gone out on a limb to suggest that the game will make its debut in April 2011 — roughly two years after the previous game.

… And as far as is always typical with rumours of this kind, there’s absolutely nothing more to say. We just thought you might like to know what the word is on the street, innit.

Rumour: Insomniac Games To Go Multiplatform

Worry Not: Ratchet & Clank Aren't Going Anywhere.

Worry Not: Ratchet & Clank Aren't Going Anywhere.

It’s never more than a few months before the Insomniac Games rumours jump to the forefront of the industry. The independently owned company have long maintained a strong partnership with Sony, but once again industry bumblings and anonymity are hinting that Insomniac will go multiplatform.

Sony own both the Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises, so if you’re expecting those on XBOX 360, well, think again. In all likelihood, if Insomniac do release something on XBOX 360 it’s likely to be a smaller XBLA title. It’s also extremely unlikely that any future Insomniac game will not hit the Playstation 3 in the future – given the long history between the company and Sony.

Good news you should assume from this: Insomniac are making games.

Oh Fucking Snap: Sony Releasing “LBP2″ This Year (That’s Probably LittleBigPlanet 2 Folks)

Sackboy Might Be Making A Return This Year? You Betcha.

Sackboy Might Be Making A Return This Year? You Betcha.

We knew there was more to Sony’s Media Molecule purchase than was originally being let on. And VG247 might just have slipped the first hint of a rumour on the matter. They claim that Sony are set to release a product called “LBP2″ this year — have a wild stab at what that game might be, folks.

Media Molecule categorically stated they wouldn’t do a sequel to LittleBigPlanet last year, so exactly what they craft here is unknown.

Guess what though, Sony are holding a press conference as part of GDC this week. Expect some big Playstation news.

Rumour: IGN Scores God Of War III A Titan-Whipping 10/10

There Will Only Be Chaos If God Of War III Doesn't Score 10.

There Will Only Be Chaos If God Of War III Doesn't Score 10.

Eagle-eyed IGN users have spotted a leak, suggesting that the website will score Kratos’ last hurrah a mighty 10/10. If true, it’ll be the first 10/10 since Metal Gear Solid 4 in 2008. Big stuff. The score’s since been pulled from the website, but this isn’t the first time this has happened. A 9.5 appeared on the Modern Warfare 2 page a few weeks ahead of embargo.

That game ended up scoring 9.5.

Rumour: Killzone 3 Coming This Christmas

We Absolutely Would Not Say No To More Killzone This Year.

We Absolutely Would Not Say No To More Killzone This Year.

The Killzone 3 rumours apparently will just not die. According to Play.TM, Killzone 3 is due this Christmas and will support both 3D and Playstation Motion Controller support. To be honest, there probably couldn’t be a better franchise for Sony to push their latest technology (particularly 3D), but is a Christmas slot to soon for Killzone 3?

Well the strongest argument for a Killzone 3 release this Christmas points at the delay of Killzone 2. Sources at the time suggested the game was done and dusted by Christmas 2008, but Sony decided to hold the title back in order to give Resistance 2 space to breathe. That would mean Guerrilla would have roughly 22 months or so from Christmas ‘08, to get Killzone 3 out of the door for Christmas ‘10. Which considering the engine is built, is possible.

With Resistance 2 scheduled for a 2011 launch, it may be that Sony has decided to juggle their key shooter franchises the other way around.

As for Playstation Motion Controller, we’re not so sure. All we’re certain is that Killzone 3 will be at E3.

More Playstation Motion Controller Wireless Nunchuck Reports Hit

A Source Has Led Us To Believe Developers Are Now In Control Of Wireless Nunchucks For Playstation Motion Controller.

A Source Has Led Us To Believe Developers Are Now In Control Of Wireless Nunchucks For Playstation Motion Controller.

We’ve been led to believe that developers of the Playstation Motion Controller have received a wireless nunchuck component in addition to the “wand-like” device Sony has already shown. Our source, who wishes to remain un-named, has backed up claims made by PSUni, that Sony are to include a wireless nunchuck as part of their motion control solution.

Apparently the nunchucks feature an analogue stick and the typical Playstation shoulder buttons.

It’s likely Sony will show off more of the Playstation Motion Controller at GDC, where they are to present a 60-minute lecture on the technology. A wireless nunchuck would avert earlier criticism from the Tokyo Game Show where Sony representatives held a DualShock 3 in one hand.

Possibly Earth Shattering News: Monster Hunter Tri Heading To PSP

Don't All Go Bananas At Once, Ok?

Don't All Go Bananas At Once, Ok?

Look, we’re just as bemused as you are. Monster Hunter is a game we just don’t get. But Japanese folk love it, and they love it best on the PSP. Sure Monster Hunter Tri fared fine on the Wii, but can you imagine the numbers a PSP version would do? The PSP has practically become a viable platform because of Monster Hunter. It’d be earth-shattering we tell you.

Cue the frontcover from the latest issue of Hong Kong’s Gamewave, which clearly says: “PSP Tri” alongside a picture of one of those dumb monster things everyone goes nuts about. The magazine reckons it’ll be out before the end of the year.

PSP just got another year of life in Japan if true.
