Bethesda Have No Plans For More Elder Scrolls Just Yet.

Elder Scrolls games are a bit of a favourite for most people. Bethesda though, aren’t too interested in delivering any more. But Bethesda’s Todd Howard spoke about his companies future with the franchise, stating there are “no plans” for a future release of the Elder Scrolls franchise.

Of course a “no plans” statement does not necessarily equate to a “never” statement.

Here’s the one we’ve been waiting for from QuakeCon 09. Rage. It looks to be id’s super-stylish take on the post-apocalyptic affair of Fallout 3. Despite sharing similarities with Bethesda’s classic, the gameplay obviously looks to be more “FPS” like, rather than the RPG affair of Fallout 3. Not only that, but it also looks super-stylised. Look at the colour palette and character design. This doesn’t seem like a game that’s taking itself too seriously.

If they nail the apocalyptic waste land environment but almost turn it on its head into an almost cartoon like environment, Rage could find a niche of its own.

So the Nazis have unlocked some kind of time warp into another world allowing them to become super-charged super warriors. Thankfully one American dude can save the day with a bunch of one-liners and presumably an arsenal of weapons.

If it wasn’t so utterly predictable and devoid of anything, we’d probably say this is an alright concept for a game. We’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Maybe.
