Introducing: "PushSquare Review Golden Oldies"

Since PushSquare’s launch in January 2009 we’ve covered pretty much all the big PSP and PS3 releases. But something we’ve been missing on is a database chock-full of Playstation content. Something which we aim to change over the coming years.

“PushSquare Review Golden Oldies” is our new post heading in order to allow us entry to reviewing the wealth of PSone, PS2 and early-PS3 content. We review the games as accurately as possible based on their original release date, but will make passing reference as to how the games hold up next to modern standards.

Given many of the titles we’ll be looking at are still available, we hope people find interest in this new content.

PushSquare Review Golden Oldies: Fahrenheit on Playstation 2.

Fahrenheit is a compellingly quirky Playstation 2 affair that we can guarantee plays nothing like any other game you’ve played. It’s original, it’s cinematic and while the plot takes a turn for the worse later on, remains refreshing right the way through.

Destruction Derby is a fast-paced racing sim with an interesting scoring mechanic which rewards wreck-less driving with points. The mechanics may not please the purists but will delight anyone who likes to smash up cars.

A pivotal release in the Playstation history that made futuristic racing cool and gave Sony’s new console a personality. Combining a hardcore dance soundtrack and some whacky vehicle designs, wipE’out” was a hit in the mid-90’s.
