Minis Now Work Great On The Playstation 3. Check Out Echoes If You Want To Pick One Up.
Sony has just released Firmware 3.15 so next time you jump onto your PS3 you’ll be able to perform a system update. You’ll get the ability to play Minis on the big-screen (we’ve tried it, and they work great) aswell as an easy method of transferring data between PS3 systems – great if you’re planning on upgrading from a Phat PS3 to the new Slim.
Are Minis On The Verge Of Launching For Playstation 3 Too?
According to sources of Joystiq, PSP Minis are going to be playable on the Playstation 3 before this month is out. Joystiq’s sources claim that the entire selection of Minis will be playable on the Playstation 3 and will even receive a resolution bump to boot.
Sony are refusing to comment. Guess we’ll find out this month won’t we?
Do you know what we like? PSP Minis and arpeggiated synth-lines. Thus we’re right at home with Laughing Jackal’s upcoming title Cubixx, a £2.49 PSP Mini due for release this coming Thursday. The title is all about quick, manic action and big score multipliers.
Oh and yo, there are big synth lines involved. Which means it gets the nod as far as we’re concerned.
Have you been looking forward to some new PSP Minis? Do you have a penchant for the undead? Good, because today sees the launch of a brand new PSP Mini in Zombie Tycoon.
“Let’s be clear, Zombie Tycoon isn’t a port from a phone game, it’s a whole new strategy game designed specifically for PSP,” producer Martin Brouard boasted on the European PlayStation Blog. “This unique tale of intrigue and betrayal spans over 10 challenging levels, allowing you to attack humans AND the places they call home.”
The trailer for the game actually looks rather exciting, and despite its rather steep launch price of £3.99/$7.99; this looks like it might be the first Mini to really justify it.
We rather liked Impressionware’s PSP Minis title Vempire. In fact, the only real thing we disliked was the somewhat steep price point. That’s now come down in the UK, settling at a more reasonable £2.49 rather than the initial £3.99.
It’s also worth noting that the game will be available in the USA today as part of their Playstation Store update. We’re not sure how the game will be priced over the pond but we’re going to assume it’ll launch with the revised pricing point we’ve seen here in Europe.
PSP Minis Are Offered Cut Price Ratings According To The ESRB.
Recently PSP Minis’ developers have come into a bit of a brick wall when developing games for Sony’s new service. Mainly the games have to be rated by the ESRB, and ESRB rating are through the fucking roof! The ESRB have shot down those claims.
“The ESRB has a reduced fee of $800 for games that have development costs under $250,000,” said ESRB spokesman Eliot Mizrachi to Kotaku.
“This would likely apply to virtually all PSP Minis.”
