Whoopsies!
Remember that advertisement with a PSP-4000 logo we told you about? Yeah, that was a mistake. NegativeGamer got in touch with Accessories4Gamers and were told it was a told blunder on their part.
Still, a PSP-4000 doesn’t seem out of the realms of possibility does it?

Elaborate Mistake & Crafty Unveiling? You Decide.
PSP-4000? What’s that then? Blimey, another SKU of the Playstation Portable surely can’t be on the cards… Can it? Apparently yes, if this Sony-released accessories advertisement is anything to go by.
Take a look for yourself.

We're Still Not Convinced This Is The PS3Slim But It Seems A New System Is Certainly In Development.
A report on Ars Technica suggests that Sony are building up for a new PSP announcement at E3. What is probably the worst kept secret in video game history, Ars Technica conclude the new PSP will have no UMD slot, longer battery life and will probably be much cheaper. They do suggest however that the system will likely join its UMD-bearing brethren rather than entirely replacing the older system. At least initially.
As for the Playstation 3 Slim, Ars Technica’s “mole” confirms its existence, but is sceptical of an E3 announcement. The suggestion is that Sony will let their current stock of systems “run-down” before releasing the new – possibly cheaper system – some time in September.
Only a week to go until we find out for sure.

Apparently Sony Told Developers About Their Subscription Service At GDC.
Following our post yesterday regarding Sony’s idea of supporting the PSP with a rental service, Develop have published a report in which they suggest Sony pitched subscription based plans to developers at GDC. Developers have moved away from PSP due to piracy concerns, something a digital-only PSP would surely prevent.
Only E3 can confirm.
