Naughty Dog Would Love To See Uncharted Hit The PSP.

Naughty Dog’s president Evan Wells has told Joystiq that there is a lot of story to tell in the Uncharted universe, and he’d love some of that story to hit the Playstation Portable.

Speaking this week at GDC, Wells said:

“I think it would be fantastic to see the game (move) onto a handheld system,” Wells told Joystiq. “Each one of the episodes is sort of like a standalone thing and I think we could do that pretty easily. If we can find a partner to work with, I’d love to do that … we definitely wouldn’t do it ourselves. We’re trying to just focus on the PS3 technology and platform right now.” He added, laughing, “But, if we can’t find a partner, then maybe we’re going to have to find a budget ourselves.”

We’re all for it Evan! Get on the phone to Ready At Dawn… Or get to work on it yourselves. Either way, we’d love a pocket-sized Uncharted engine.

The Uncharted 2 Accolades Just Keep On Coming.

Imagine the Oscars or the Baftas. But for video games. Then imagine a runaway winner. Then twist all that but use the analogy for video games released in 2009, and you’ll eventually happen on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which won ten gongs at the AIAS awards last night.

Blimey. Drake and crew won awards for Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction, Outstanding Achievement in Visual Engineering, Outstanding Achievement in Original Story and Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, and more.

You'll Be Able To Play As The Chimera In Uncharted 2 As Soon As Next Week.

Remember the awesome Uncharted 2: Among Thieves DLC we told you about yesterday? Sony’s confirmed it’s coming next week, alongside a demo if you’re yet (why not!?!) to play the game.

The DLC, entitled the “Playstation Heroes Skin Pack” brings Cole and Zeke from inFamous, Nathan Hale and the Chimera from Resistance and Sev and the Helghast from Killzone 2. It’ll cost £3.99/$4.99.

Someone grab that little dude with the funny suit from Braid because I’m about to take you on a trip through time. Rewind the clocks back to November 2006 when Sony released the Playstation 3 upon the world. It was met with feverish anticipation and was considered the second, err, third coming of the great Playstation home console series. All was good with the world. That is, until it was decided by people who write important things on the Internet that the PS3 had “no good games” on it. Apparently this was because of a unique infrastructure that caused developers to either shy away from creating games for the console at all, or just making shitty ports of XBOX 360 games that didn’t show off what the PS3 was really made of.

If you happen to be Japanese and also living under a rock, then you might have missed out on Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Thankfully, for said people who have just emerged from under their rock, you’ll be able to catch up with an Uncharted Twin-Pack. The pack features both iterations of Uncharted in a lovely gold wrap and will retail for ¥7,980 (about $87) when it launches next month.

Knowing Nate, He'll Be Loving All The Attention.

High off winning practically every video game award under the sun, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has just gone and got another seven nominations; this time from the Game Developers Choice awards.

Uncharted 2 has scooped nominations for Best Game Design, Best Innovation, and just plain Game Of The Year, alongisde other accolades. PSN exclusive flower is not far behind Uncharted 2 with five nominations.

Naughty Dog Don't Plan On Introducing Motion Control Into The Uncharted Franchise.

Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells has told G4 that his company aren’t interested in doing a motion controlled Uncharted game anytime soon. Instead, he reckons if they were to do a game for Sony’s new Playstation Motion Controller, they’d be designing a game from the ground-up.

“We really don’t have any interest in using the motion control to do a third-person action game.

“If we were going to make a motion controller game, we’d want to tackle it from the bottom up and make sure that we were designing the game around the motion control, the way the best Wii games are designed.

“I’m not a Wii hater at all, in fact, it’s probably one of my most played consoles in the house. I have a 3-year old son which might account for some of that [laughs], but Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are some of the best experiences of this generation – honestly.

“Yeah, I think the PlayStation audience is totally for it. In fact, I bet you there are lot of closet Wii owners in the PlayStation community.”

Thank goodness for that then.
