We Betchya’re Ready For More Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Right?

After last week’s 10-minute epic look at Konami’s Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, we didn’t think there’d be a new video for some time. How wrong we were. Hey, how do you fancy another ten minutes of gameplay? You do. Well – fucking cool beans then. Press the play button and digest.

This Is A PSP Game. No Honestly, It's A PSP Game.

Konami’s announced that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will hit the American PSPs on June 8th. This follows the announcement of yesterday’s Peace Walker hardware bundle, which incidentally will be released on the same day.

We’re excited. Are you, valued reader?

Looks like SCEA are going to give Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker a pretty ample push, announcing that the PSP title will get a special bundle.

The bundle is set to include a Green PSP-3000, the game on UMD, a Playstation Network movie voucher, and a 2GB pro-duo memory stick for $199.99. Sounds like an excellent deal.

Peace Walker will also release for PSPgo. Worry not!

Kojima: MGS: Peace Walker Is A “True Metal Gear Game”

Yup, It Looks Like A "True" Metal Gear Solid Game To Us.

Yup, It Looks Like A "True" Metal Gear Solid Game To Us.

Because it’s a PSP title, many people are writing off Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker as some kind of spin-off saga. Not true, Hideo Kojima has been keen to emphasise over and over, this is the real deal.

Over on Twitter, the Kojima Productions head honcho wrote:

“PW is going to be released as a portable game, but it is a TRUE MGS game in the saga, not a spin-off. Of course, we have put a lot of power into the story. It should be pretty exciting. The potential of a portable game, an innovative system that changes the nature of future MGs is what makes this a game a title to look forward too.”

Peace Walker’s due later this year. Konami released a good nine-or-so minutes of gameplay last week.

Kojima: Metal Gear Solid: Rising Will Bring In “New Users”

A New Type Of Metal Gear Solid Game Then? You Betcha.

A New Type Of Metal Gear Solid Game Then? You Betcha.

Hideo Kojima has suggested via Twitter that the new Metal Gear Solid: Rising game, being developed by a band of Kojima Productions upstarts, will bring new people to the franchise.

He posted:

“The next MGS… “RISING.” this game will create new users, be developed by the new generation, a new MGS.”

Very little is known about the game at this stage, aside from the fact that it will feature “Lightning Bolt Action” and star Metal Gear Solid 2’s Raiden.

Oh, How About 9 Minutes Of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker

Konami’s just dropped a nine-minute long look at the upcoming PSP foray into the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. There’s tons of new stuff to see here that wasn’t included in the recent demo. Well worth checking out (if you have the time!).

Apparently, more videos are planned.

So Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Really Is Metal Gear Solid 5…

Proof: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Is Kinda MGS5.

Proof: Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Is Kinda MGS5.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is a Playstation Portable title. It has no “number”. But apparently there was a time when the game did. Look at this logo. It’s an old one that was posted on Kojima Productions’ developers blog by Jiro Oishi. It says “Metal Gear Solid 5″ on it.

As we all know, the number was dropped before the E3 reveal. But if you ever wanted more proof that – spiritually at least, Peace Walker is MGS5 – well, there it is.
