MotorStorm's Bound To Get A Third Installment. BOUND!

Sony’s told VG247 that the registration of a MotorStorm 3 website “should not be interpreted as an announcement”. Whoopsies, and there was us going all wild with our jet-ski fantasies.

“It’s not uncommon for us to secure the URLs containing the names of our successful IP, and those actions should not be interpreted as an announcement of a new title in a franchise,” a rep from Sony told VG247.

It’s not a confirmation but we bet the game’s still in development. And if it’s not: PLEASE PUT JET-SKIS IN THE INEVITABLE MOTORSTORM 3, EVOLUTION. PLEASE!

Please Let MotorStorm 3 Be Like This...

To be honest, we’ve been hearing MotorStorm 3 rumblings for months and months. But this is the first “concrete” piece of evidence we’ve been privvy to regarding the follow-up to Evolution Studio’s popular arcade racer. It’s not a lot to go on but, according to the WhoIs of motorstorm3.com, Sony Computer Entertainment registered the domain in January.

With MotorStorm already having successful iterations on land and ice, murmurings suggest the latest version of MotorStorm may just take place on water. Think WaveRace.

Y’know what, if Evolution Studios have taken the next logical step onto the ocean, MotorStorm 3 could turn out to be one of our most anticipated games of the year. We’re big fans of the franchise, but we think a step into the ocean could really reinvigorate interest.

Killzone 2; Now Officially A Lot, Lot Cheaper.

If you’ve been waiting on picking up Metal Gear Solid 4, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 then perhaps it’s time you picked them up. They’ve just gone platinum, i.e. cheap. All four titles can now be bought in garish packaging for £19.99.

If you’ve just jumped into the world of Playstation 3 via the recent price drop, we actually recommend you buy all four games.

Killzone 2? Motorstorm: Pacific Rift? Resistance 2? Nope… SOCOM: Confrontation. SCEA’s Mark Rogers is basing this statistic by counting the number of simultaneous Playstation Network connections. He bases the game’s success off the community’s commitment to the franchise.

Rogers concluded that dedicated fans will be rewarded by an upcoming patch that will change the scale and scope of the game.

Evolution Studios have just announced two entirely new content packs for MotorStorm: Pacific Rift giving players a slew of new tracks, vehicles and trophies to play with.

Speed Expansion:

• Three new tracks and variants (Quicksands, Engorged, Dark Fire Swamp)
• Four new vehicles
• 48-event Mini-Festival
• Speed Weekend
• Plus rewards, Trophies and Microbadges

Adrenaline Expansion:

• Three new tracks (Reefrunner, Brimstone, Hollowed Earth)
• Five track variants
• Four new vehicles
• Six new characters
• New paintjobs for existing vehicles

Free DLC Is Heading To Motorstorm: Pacific Rift Starting This Week.

Hooray! Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is getting some love. More importantly – it’s getting some DLC love. Just days after the new patch hit everyone’s favourite over-the-top PS3 racer, Evolution have confirmed free DLC is abound. In fact there will be new DLC every week for the next EIGHT weeks. All for free.

The content – new colours. But hey, don’t be mean. We’re sure there are new tracks in the pipeline too. Cheers for the freebies though Evolution. We’ll definitely be downloading them.
