Will the Splinter Cell Remake Finally Step Out of the Shadows at Ubisoft Forward? 1

It's been well over two years since Ubisoft officially confirmed the return of Splinter Cell with a modern remake. In development primarily at Ubisoft Toronto, we've not seen a single second of the project, save for some concept art. However, fans are hopeful that Ubisoft Forward, which returns this June, will be the stage upon which the game finally makes a proper debut.

There's slightly more to it than just wishful thinking, too. As spotted by Twitter user MauroNL3, Ubisoft Toronto updated its social media pages the day before Ubisoft Forward's announcement, changing profile images to represent Splinter Cell:

It's not much to go on. However, June will mark two and a half years since the game's announcement, so it could be high time to shine a spotlight on the remake at last — even if it's just a short teaser. Additionally, as pointed out by PC Gamer, Ubisoft's full financial results in May will reveal the full extent of its lineup for the next fiscal year, theoretically meaning it still has some things up its sleeve to unveil.

All eyes on Ubisoft Forward, then — here's hoping we'll spot Sam Fisher among the publisher's showcase in the summer. Do you think the Splinter Cell remake will make an appearance? Discuss in the comments section below.
