2K Sports quietly announced a new entry in its Top Spin series of tennis games yesterday. Titled TopSpin 2K25, it'll be the series' first new tennis sim in about 13 years.

Currently, the main source of information is the above teaser trailer, which features a mix of "gameplay and cinematics rendered in game engine". From what little we can glean, it looks like this could be the tennis game our industrious editor Sammy Barker has been waiting for — big budget, licensed tournaments, the whole shebang. Obviously we need more details to be sure, but 2K Sports describes TopSpin 2K25 as "the next must-play sports game" from the publisher.

No platforms are currently announced, but as pointed out by Gematsu, placeholder listings on the PS Store and Microsoft Store are live, so it'll be coming to PS5. Over on the game's official website, a logo at the bottom of the page appears to reveal it's being developed by Hangar 13 — best known for the Mafia series.

There are plenty of questions left to be answered, then, but the prospect of a new Top Spin is an exciting one. Are you excited about this announcement? Tell us in the comments section below.
