Fake Mobile Game Ads Take Centre Stage in New PS5, PS4 Release

The only one I'd want to play is the one with rolling barrels where the number decreases when you shoot it

This title sounds interesting, hopefully the gameplay is fun!

The only good thing since Twitter's Musk-takeover has been the inclusion of Community Notes trolling the ads for these fakes games.

No WiiWare games for me.

I've heard about adverts for fake games and I may well have seen the adverts. But I've never known the game is fake because adverts for mobile games always make the game look like dogshiz so I've never clicked on one :S

@ralphdibny Yeah, same — not once have I looked at an ad and thought it looked remotely decent; they're all the same garish, AI-image-looking Candy Crush knockoff junk

But how will this game be advertised? If it shows what it is, it's indistinguishable from the fake ads, so presumably you've got to go with a big-flashy ad that makes it look like a AAA blockbuster?

This is actually kinda funny lol. Hero Wars is the bane of my YouTube viewing experience. I think I've seen literally 500+ ads for that game, and it always looks different.

Looked at the store listing for the game on Steam.

Looks interesting but it looks like it has about the same quality as the ad-games.

@ralphdibny its not really the case of it all being rubbish.

But I have my kids saying I want this I want that and the trailer and the short gameplay demo what sometime comes with it seems like a good waste of time even for myself.

Then you download the game and that short demo you just played isn't even in the main game, its a side mission which you may never get to.

I think I remember playing a demo of a pretty good fun shooter.

When I downloaded it, it was a land map with flags on it and I never got to play the shooter. It was totally a different game than what was advertised.

@ralphdibny Ive noticed how they purposely make mistakes in adverts. Especially on puzzle games, even if the solution is obvious. It’s never worked on me but I bet a lot of people will download the games just because they see the solution.
