Tales of Arise '2nd Anniversary Special Livestream' Announced for TGS 2023

How about some story DLC!

I would love a new Tales game, this one was my first experience and I loved every second of it.

I thought they said that they don't plan on making a sequel. Tho I'm really looking for a new Tales game with similar combat.

Have this on my ps5, I think I'll play it after I finish elden ring & ff 16 😃

From not being on my radar at all initially to getting the platinum. ToA was awesome, I’m here for another.

I just purchased this on sale recently and I'm very close to starting it. (Keep getting gun-shy because I'm short on time to play at the moment.) This is interesting - maybe DLC? Maybe standalone?

Probably go the same direction as the Atelier series and go down the route of a gacha game for their next main game.

@wiiware My kid played this, ToA, for about 2 hours and decided it wasn't for them and bought FF16, which was way more to their liking, before going off to college. I then traded in FF16 for 1/2 a Mario Wander pre-order, but I planned on starting this myself. Guess I'll wait now, liek I'm waiting for GoW:R news. Currently playing Kena Bridge of Spirits, two years behind is about the norm for me. 🤷‍♂️

First Tales game and I fell in love with it. Will be hoping for some new content of substance.

I've never played a game I've gone from loving to hating like this. All the promise of the opening hours is wasted as the back half of the game falls off a cliff.

Maybe the rumours of they giving Tales of Arise on the PS+ are true too... Hopes up!

@rjejr I played the demo and like it, so I bought it when the game is discounted on psn, my favs tales games is tales of vesperia on xbox 360, I hope this game is as good as that game

Already have gow ragnarok, bought it cheap digitally (got it from ps5 gow ragnarok console code) and only played it about 1 hour before getting distracted by other games. Maybe because the first one feels so completed so the second game feels like it only lengthen the story, way different from gow 2 ps2 where we start the story as the f god of war and tricked (impaled with sword) by zeus to become normal human again lol.

That's opposite to my reaction of GoW, which felt like half of a game to me and GoW:R is the 2nd half, which I waited to play to make sure it wasn't the middle 3rd of 3. I thought it was done, but they a few day sago I read about maybe more DLC, so I'll wait some more. I never run out of games to play, or TV shows to watch. Though with the current writers and actors strikes I may run out of shows before games if they don't settle soon. 🤷‍♂️

Honestly this was my game of the year 2021. I cannot overstate how much I needed a game like Tales of Arise in 2021. I'll take anything even remotely similar to ToA. A sequel would be great but I can't see where it'd go. But I'm open!

2 years wow time flies I need to play this again cuz now I got a ps5 and I'm replaying a lot of games that got upgraded and I'm loving it

Oh boy... "Tales of" direct sequels tend to be terrible. They completely change the formula and miss spectacularly.

1.Please don't let it be a mobile game.
2.If it is, I certainly wouldn't be surprised.
3.A new entry in the Tales (of) series (be it a tease or trailer of any kind, heck maybe its a sequel) post Tales of Arise would definitely be a welcome sight.

@rjejr Really? I feels like the main story of the first game is to spread the ashes of his wife, and become closer to his son, and kratos already achieved that goals. Oh well, I guess I'll find out after I finished elden ring & ff 16 😃

@Mauzuri So you sold the game after a few hours? No wonder you can't remember the story or any of the characters lol.

@wiiware My problems w/ GoW are mostly they set you up but don't deliver. For example, that 1 guy you keep fighting over and over again, isn't really much of a GoW villain, he's more of a Spiderman villain. I grew bored of him before even reaching the final battle, which I found boring. Then there is the hub machine which takes you to the different worlds. There are I believe 9 worlds in the hub but you can only visit 6. That is lousy game design. You don't show off 6 worlds only to keep you from visiting 1/3 of them. And finally, the final area was devoid of life. You don't set up the giant realm that you fight to get to all game only to get there and there aren't any giants there. Not a single one. This isn't a Zelda exploration game, it's a GoW game, you don't set up a world only to have it empty with no fighting. That's just stupid. Sure, maybe it works w/ the mythology, but if I wanted a history lesson on Geek mythology I'd read a book, I play GoW to fight giants and gods. This game gave me some skinny no pain guy over and over again who was never a serious threat and then a Thor dream appearance to tease the next game. This entire game was set up for the second half of the game which I'm hoping is an actual GoW game and we get to fight some actual godlike gods worthy of Kratos.

I know I'm very much alone in how I feel but that's how I feel. My wife, who watched me play the entire game, and has watched me play A LOT of games over the past 26 years, had the same impression. It was a good start, but it's only the beginning. 🤷‍♂️
