18 More Games Join PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week

Probably the poorest selection since the service started, for me anyway.

Going to play it takes two with my nephew as he will have love that.

Might jump back into World War Z again as that was loads of fun.

Twisted metal 2 hope it has trophies. Not the best month but back catalog is huge. Wonder if they ever gong to get a new PS2 emulator so we can see some new PS2 games.

Need to finish Stray. Just started it

Really glad to see Twisted Metal 1 and 2 here. Hopefully we can get Head-On and Small Brawl at some point.

Glad I literally just played and beat Stray casually over the weekend.. cute little game.. I started it 3 different times and got distracted.. glad I went back with 100% devoted attention.. recommended for sure.. new free games suck tho

I've nearly bought various Sniper games over the years and then never bothered, so that's quite handy.

Looks like I'll be trying a Sniper Elite game for the very first time, heard they can be really fun. Looking forward to shooting Hitlers sausage and two veg

A weaker month, but I can't complain after so many strong selections we got. There are a plethora of great games already waiting there. Sniper Elite 5 and the "Warriors" games call my atention.

Snowrunner, Melty Blood, and Sniper Elite are all great. Different strokes I guess.

If I didn't already own Samurai Warriors 5, I'd be most excited for that. It's excellent

Was planning to get Sniper Elite 5 sooner rather than later. Would definitely be downloading it as soon as it becomes available. Meanwhile, will try to beat Stray before it vanishes.

Another great month for me, plenty of games I want to try out. The value in Extra is simply amazing in my opinion.
Can't recommend It Takes Two enough, a brilliant coop game.

It Takes Two is a lot of fun for anyone who hasnt tried it and worth the price of admission alone. Otherwise, it follows that pattern of a couple of recent well-recieve d games from the last year and slimmer pickings. anyone who thinks this is poor value for about £4 a month on top of everything else that is already in the library needs to take a reality check. 1st party games and day ones are a special treat not the rule.

June was pretty amazing. For me, not so much July. Will like check out Ascent, Dynasty and Samuri Warriors

Even with it being considered a “weaker month” there’s several games I’m looking forward to playing. So I really have no complaints. WWZ is fantastic and highly recommended to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet.

My Little Pony has to be the game of the month, none of the poo like The Ascent lol

@Discol76 don't rush Stray, play like a cat, casually and take it all in to make sure you enjoy it properly, there's plenty of time as it's not too demanding 😺 it's a great little game

Good extra once again, a few i held off buying. Premium a disappointment again.

Not the best selection this month, but there's still some super good games in here. My brother has always wanted to play It Takes Two so that's definitely one to play, Undertale is one that's always welcome, Melty Blood is one I've been wanting to grab for a while, and the premium line-up seems pretty decent this month. Could of been a whole lot worse imo

I'm mostly using Extra for the online this year, as I've had other things to play, and it's summer, but I'm glad I still got it during the offer, as I'll only need to actually play one game in the year to make it worth the pennies more than regular ps plus it cost, and Extra is still cool.

Bit of a weak month, but they added a bunch I want to play already the first few months of this cycle, so it's not like I can't go to them when I need to

And of course... Farewell sweet Stray 😺

It Takes Two is fantastic. Not much here for me but I just got Callisto Protocol and Like A Dragon Ishin so I am set for a while on top of going for this FF16 platinum

I guess if you’re just Extra then it’s not a great month, but Twisted Metal 1 and 2?!? Hot damn. That makes it one of the more exciting Premium months for me (and I’ve been pretty happy with Premium already).

I mean, It Takes Two won GOTY at The Game Awards, it’s an absolutely stellar game. The Ascent is decent multiplayer fare. Undertale is amazing. Melty Blood is amazing. Two Twisted Metal titles. How is this NOT a great month?

Essential’s AW and that fox game are still better than this selection in extra.

One of the rare months with nothing for me at first sight. It almost feels like a relieve to not see my backlog grow even further.

Really excited about Sniper Elite 5, I recently discovered this series through the PS Plus service, the game set in Italy is awesome, so I'm happy for the campaign in France. As for the rest of the games, apart from Snowrunner which is amazing and I already have it, I'm not very interested.
Edit: I forgot to mention, It Takes Two is excellent, I finished the game with my wife, we had fun from start to finish, I totally recommend it.

The Ascent and Dysmantle are on my wishlist so that saves me a few quid. It Takes Two is on there as well but the days of getting my son play co-op with me are over so I doubt I'll ever get round to trying it.

Personally, I'm very excited for Sniper Elite 5 - it's been on my wishlist for ages, I just haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I dont care what anyone says I love Premium. Been waiting for Undertale to come back to the service since it left PS Now. Cant wait to platinum Twisted Metal 1&2.

Circus Electrique is an under appreciated gem-Darkest Dungeon with clowns!!!

The Ascent is good too if you like Twin Stick shooters.

I suppose they added Twisted Metal because there will be a series later this month on Peacock.

I played The Ascent on Xbox but am up for another play through on Playstation. Dysmantle is well worth checking out. Will give World War Z a go. Still waiting for Disco elysium on either PS+ extra or GamePass 🙄

Love the sniper elite series, but I have a rule nowadays, never buy brand new, and only purchase when a game drops below 20 pound in the online sales. Guess being a gaming dad, with less time and massive back catalogue allows me to be a bit more savy. I get great games at cheap prices or I get them through ps plus premium. Whichever comes first.

Dysmantle is such an addicting little game! Def worth a look even if you dont think you'd like it

@johncalmc to be fair, they did say “in my opinion”. I got excited for a sec when I saw Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors. Then I read “PS4” and my shoulders dropped lol.

It Takes Two is INCREDIBLE and Twisted Metal makes me happy. I hope for a new (great) game some day.

For once I do agree that this is a weak selection. Some real riff-raff being served up as headline additions and it only gets more conspicuous from there.

It doesn’t bother me much because I’ve downloaded about 10 games from the last 3 months, none of which I’ve actually played yet !

Not too shabby month for me, a few games from my wishlist that will be on the service.

Admittedly I'm a long time fan of twin stick shooters, but I really loved The Ascent.

I imagine if people wanted to play these games, they've probably played them already. I mean, if you haven't already played Undertale, where have you been?

The Ascent was really really good, IMO. The soundtrack was an absolute banger too. I can’t wait for a sequel!

There's quality titles there, but a lot of them are pretty old, so most people would have played them by now if they wanted to. If not, great, but I agree with others that this is the weakest month by far. Not a single game I'm interested in.

Don't get me wrong. It's not like every month has to be great, and I'm not cancelling my subscription just because of one horrible month, but there's no reason to sugarcoat it either. This is just a bad month for the majority of people.

@Wiggo so funny how everyone can look at a list and have completely different reactions. I've been on the fence for buying Sniper Elite 5, Dynasty Warriors 9, and It Takes Two for awhile. And I'm amped to play Twisted Metal 2. Haven't played it on two decades! So this month is pretty awesome for me

Yeah I agree, it's just that I still have all the consoles going back to the PS1, so if I wanted to play the older games, I'd boot them up.

I think it's a first impression thing too. Just human nature I guess.

When my Plus renews, it drops to the basic package.
To me it's not worth £100 a year.

@GoodGame The issue is that if you purchase Premium with discounted PSN credit and during a sale, it's more like £62 a year, and if you purchase Essential on the same basis it's £31 a year. Harder to argue Premium isn't worth an additional £31, and if you compare Extra against Essential, then that difference drops to just £21 a year on the same basis.

For me, the problem with these higher tiers hasn't turned out to be price related, rather that it's caused me to play more 'good' or 'interesting' games on the service that I'm not particularly invested in (but feel I should play because I'm paying a sub for it all), rather than getting back to my library of unplayed or partially played purchased stuff.

Opportunity cost is a real thing, unfortunately.

I also wasn't expecting to feel disconnected from the Extra and Premium games in the way I do. Not owning them really has changed the way I feel about them, just can't get into them the same way. Even the PS+ Essential games I don't suffer from that mindset, because as long you keep your basic sub going, which we pretty much all do, then those games aren't going anywhere. The Extra and Premium ones, on the other hand, who knows when they drop in and out of availability.

It's a weird one, and I'm sure most people aren't bothered by the above, because more choice is good, right?!
