Dreams, Media Molecule's long-in-the-making PlayStation 4 exclusive, finally has a solid release date. If you've been following the site recently, you'll know that we're big fans of this absurdly ambitious game about community and creation, so we're pretty excited for its arrival on Valentine's Day. If you're like us, you might be interested to know that the title is now up for pre-order, both physically and digitally.
Whether you plump for a boxed copy of the game or hit up the PlayStation Store, Dreams is available for a pretty good price; it's £34.99 / $39.99. If you purchased the early access version, you'll be upgraded for free, but the asking price is low even if you didn't jump in sooner.

It's also worth highlighting the game's box art, which has now seemingly been locked down. It's similar to other key art for the game we've seen before, and is kind of beautiful yet all over the place -- just like Dreams itself.
Are you excited for the long overdue release of Dreams on PS4? Will you be pre-ordering digitally or physically? Scribble down your ideas in the comments below.

The box copy is £10 more expensive than the early access version was.
Sounds about right.
The box art looks really cool.
I like it, it looks cool Just waiting to see if it has any sort of Story mode before I pre-order really. It would be cool if MM did one and you could jump into completely different World's with say one character or something like that.
Can you play other user's creations without PS Plus?
@Carl-G It will have a little single player story mode
@sketchturner yes
"Only On Playstation" lol. Sure Sony you ain't fooling us.
@JAMes-BroWWWn for the time being it is only on playstation. is that really an inaccurate thing to say? yea, if sony is wise, they will roll it out onto pc as well... but i don't see that happening for at least a year after the console launch. at that point, sony might change the label of the ps4 box art to "ps4 console exclusive" instead.
Damn only 40 bucks. Thats amazing. Good deal Sony and MM. I intentionally didnt get into the early access just so i could walk into this completely blind. I wanna make (try)the 3rd Chrono game lol. I dont care how long it takes me
@Quintumply i read somewhere its actually 3 separate 'campaigns' all from different genres.
@Porco If Sony is wise, they won't do that. It would not benefit them at all. That's obvious.
I wonder if the box art was 'made in dreams'?
@GodGamer in your first comment, it sounded like you didn't believe this would be an exclusive and sony is "fooling" us. in your latest comment, you are saying it SHOULD be an exclusive? also, by releasing this on pc, all users will beneift since there will be a lot more content creators working on it — meaning more levels for us to play etc. how is that not beneficial? i don't understand what you are trying to say but feel free to explain your point better if you wish.
@Porco Putting it on PC would not benefit Sony. Keeping it only on PS4 would benefit Sony. They want people to buy their hardware, pay for PS+ and shop on their store. That is how they make their money. Putting the game on PC would not benefit their business at all. There over 100 million PS4s sold so they don't need PC to get more users to create content since that is what you are suggesting. LBP had no shortage of level creators being only on PlayStation so it will be no different for Dreams. It also costs money to port a game, maintaining the servers and creating update patches. They would also have to split sales with Steam/Epic instead of getting 100% profit. They are not a third party company.
@GodGamer i would agree if we were talking about a traditional game... but we aren't. dreams will live or die based on the content creators make or don't make for it. even if ps4 has 100m users, 95% of them are not even going to look at dreams, let alone spend dozens if not hundreds of hours "working" on their own levels. dreams will be a niche game for a very particular crowd. the more user generated content, the better. sony has already made its ps4 sales — do you truly believe there will be a noticeable difference in hardware sales at the tail end of the ps4's life if dreams remains a ps4 exclusive? not a chance dreams will have that kind of imapct. sony and mm have invested a lot of time and resources into what i would call a high risk project. they need all the help they can get and by releasing on pc, that will give the game its best chancs for success. let's put it this way: i think there is a 0% chance dreams won't release on pc at some point in the future and i would be shocked if sony is not already planning on it.
I love the box art.
