Ghost of Tsushima’s presentation is so impressive that as far back as last year many pundits were pondering whether the title’s E3 2018 demo was running on next-gen hardware or not. The likelihood at this stage is that the Sucker Punch developed Feudal affair will launch on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, similar to, say, the Nintendo Switch’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

And speaking with Famitsu magazine, Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida has poured fuel on that fire, admitting that each time he plays the title he’s “overwhelmed” by the graphics. “When I play it, it’s so beautiful that my hands stop,” he said, as translated by The PlayStation Brahs. “There are many scenes that make Japanese scenery 1.2 times more beautiful.”

It’s not confirmation of a PS5 version by any stretch – the title’s likely to look stunning on Sony’s existing system as well – but would you bet against some kind of next-gen version at this point? It’s been over a year since we last saw the release in action, and our guess is that it will re-emerge when the Japanese giant’s ready to showcase its new hardware next year.
