Square Enix Collective is the publisher's arm dedicated to smaller games, and its latest addition was announced during its E3 2019 press conference. Called Circuit Superstars, this cutesy little racing game is played from a top down perspective.
In development at Original Fire Games, the game sounds like it'll include a little more strategy than just getting across the finish line. You'll need to watch damage taken and make tactical pit stops to help achieve victory. It's also set to include multiple areas of racing, with cars from a variety of motorsport eras.
It's coming to PlayStation 4 in 2020. What do you think of Circuit Superstars? Put your foot down in the comments below.

Looks fun. I'm down
I like these types of games, I'll give this a go
Looks cute and god knows it can't be worse than the recent Micro Machines reboot.
Well, that was a slightly disappointing trailer. Sure, it showed some cars, graphics, movement, etc., but I feel that it doesn't actually portray what gameplay will be like - unless you actually follow the 'group of cars' rather than the one you're controlling, which doesn't make sense to me... I guess it makes sense to show the race like this in a trailer, but it'd be nice to see what it would look like for a player. I'm intrigued either way.
When I saw the still I thought, yes I'm in straightaway. I grew up playing Micro Machines, Super Skidmarks and Indy Heat. I love these types of game. I have Mantis Burn Racing on PS4 which scratches that itch slightly. When I pressed play though, I didn't think it seemed that great. The cars seem to move a bit unnaturally, like they are floating or something? I can't put my finger on it.
Hopefully end result will be good though.
Looks very cool can’t wait to play it!!!
@tomassi
It looks very Micro Machines; the cars look to rotate on a central pivot rather than be actually influenced by the wheels position.
I still have MotorStorm RC. That'll do for this sort of thing.
