Hollow Knight, one of the most acclaimed indie titles in recent years, is getting a full sequel, developer Team Cherry has announced. Named Hollow Knight: Silksong, the game places Hornet in the spotlight in her very own adventure, with a new world to explore and hundreds of new enemies to tackle.
"Hollow Knight: Silksong is the epic sequel to Hollow Knight, the epic action-adventure of bugs and heroes," says Team Cherry. "As the lethal hunter Hornet, journey to all-new lands, discover new powers, battle vast hordes of bugs and beasts and uncover ancient secrets tied to your nature and your past."
If it seems a bit quick to be seeing a sequel, don't forget that the game's initial launch on PC was about two years ago. Hollow Knight: Silksong hasn't yet been confirmed for PlayStation 4, but given the first game's eventual release on Sony's platform, we imagine a port is likely.

If it does come to PS4 it wont be for a good while yet it seems.
Awesome, still got secrets to find and DLC to do in the first one, this will be a day 1 for me!
Seems to be a timed console exclusive to Switch but hopefully this will come to the PS4 as it looks outstanding from the trailer.
Bought the first one on Saturday in the psn sale, so looking forward to trying it out!
Hollow knight was one of my favorite games last year. I'll definitely get this one.
Eh. I'm good. I think I got my fill with the original Hollow Knight. This feels too similar for my liking.
I stop playing Hollow Knight on PS4. The game is pretty but too damn frustrating.
I'm very excited for this. Hollow Knight is a near perfect metroidvania, and I can't wait to see what Team Cherry does with a bigger budget and more experience heading into a sequel. Even if it turns out to be worse, or even just as good as the first game, it's still going to be better than most others in the genre, including the last Metroid game.
Switch it is for me.
Is this really a Switch Exclusive?
@Midgardian All desktop formats and Switch first then probably PS4 and Xbox later on!
