Red Dead Redemption 2 has made a return to the top of the UK sales charts, where it will presumably remain through the all-important holiday period. It’s the first number one for the Western in four weeks, but a 19 per cent rise in pre-Christmas sales for the critically acclaimed Rockstar Games release saw it return to the summit. FIFA 19 jumped 30 per cent week-over-week to take second, while Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 – buoyed by a £10 discount – finished up in third place.
Interestingly, all three of the aforementioned titles now account for a total of four million physical units sold in the UK, which is a huge tally for the region – especially when it doesn’t include rising digital sales.
Elsewhere in the charts, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy rebounded after a small price cut, while Marvel’s Spider-Man also leaped 68 per cent to take ninth position. PlayStation VR bundles saw a whole host of virtual reality titles occupy the lower spots of the Top 40, with PSVR Worlds being the top performer in 26th position.
