Spyro Reignited Trilogy Ps4 PlayStation 4 1

Activision’s onto a winner with these nostalgia fuelled PSone remakes, as Spyro: Reignited Trilogy has topped the UK sales charts – although Pokémon would have taken the W if you were to combine its multiple editions. This is still an impressive result for the purple dragon, which outpaced Red Dead Redemption 2 and Fallout 76 to take the top spot.

Not only that but the PlayStation 4 commanded 75 per cent of the remake’s retail sales, showing that PlayStation nostalgia very much exists. It’ll be interesting to see how the PlayStation Classic performs on these shores; there’s been some disappointment with the software selection, but it’s clear that the PSone has become big business for Sony in recent years.

Speaking of big business, or the lack thereof, Fallout 76 saw its sales slip an enormous 82.4 per cent compared to Fallout 4 – although it’s worth noting that Chart-Track doesn’t currently include digital data, and the title's online focus may have pushed punters to shop on the PlayStation Store. Nevertheless, it’s not a great result for the multiplayer game.

Similarly disappointing is Hitman 2, which registered a 90 per cent decline compared to Hitman: Absolution's debut, although it’s another outing that may have fared better on digital storefronts. Elsewhere, Fortnite made its first UK sales charts appearance this week with the Deep Freeze Bundle, with sales split evenly across all three major platforms.
