When it comes to slinging webs across New York City, Marvel's Spider-Man does a spectacular job, but it's worth remembering when the mechanic became something special. Jamie Fristrom was the man responsible for the physics based swinging in 2004's Spider-Man 2, the game often regarded as the best Spidey game thanks to that system. But what does he think of Insomniac's effort?
This new video answers exactly that question. Fristrom hadn't played the game yet and didn't know very much about it, so hearing his thoughts on the new game and how its web swinging feels is pretty interesting. It's worth watching to get his perspective, but in case you don't have the time: he likes it, particularly the dive bomb move on L3. It's always a treat to get some industry insight.

I forgot there's dive bomb move, I usually wait until spidey really close to hit the ground and then swing.
Article had some dated information Spider-Man 2 was known as the best Spidey game until insomniacs released
@wiiware just came here to say that. I used dive bomb in tutorial and probably never again. Same with that hanging move a la batman.
@JoeBlogs I platinumed the game without it and if it weren't for this article I wouldn't even remember it's there
Awesome video. I did’t even know what that roblox game is though lol. But yeah, interesting how you go from making Spjder-Man 2 to not knowing anything about the latest Spider-Man game. Especially with the hype around this one.
The swinging is so fine in this game
Pretty cool. Spider-Man 2 is really important for the series overall, but now Spider-Man PS4 takes the crown for the best game.
Spider-Man PS4 was good, but in my opinion it just doesn't replace Spider-Man 2 as the best Spidey game.
Doesn't own a PS4🤦
Spiderman 2 still has the best web swinging imo. Nobody has beat advanced mode yet.
