Out of the blue, Capcom has revealed that the next Monster Hunter: World update will drop tomorrow (the 18th April) on PlayStation 4. The headline act here is that it'll introduce a new quest type called 'Siege', and it basically sounds like the game's equivalent of a multiplayer raid.

Capcom says that Siege is designed with mutiplayer squads in mind. "Each hunting party will split off into groups of up to four hunters each, but will be working together to investigate and hunt down the same Kulve Taroth," reads the official press release. It sounds like a challenge, and it's for up to 16 players.

Oh, and Kulve Taroth is a brand new elder dragon. You can see the beast in action in the trailer that we've embedded above.

So Siege kicks off tomorrow, but it won't be sticking around forever. This'll be a limited time event, meaning that you'll want to get stuck in whenever it swings around. Naturally, Kulve Taroth gives you access to new equipment in the form of weapons and armour, assuming you can acquire the necessary materials from its scaly form.

Interestingly, it seems like there's going to be some randomisation to the weapons that you can get your hands on. The press release reads: "The primary goal of this Siege is to repel Kulve Taroth, but its shimmering golden mantle happens to be a collection of shiny weapon relics it has gathered along its journey through the New World. We don’t have much information on when and where Kulve Taroth has amassed all these relics, so the nature and quality of these weapons (read: type and stats) are entirely up to fate."

Will you be taking on Taroth tomorrow? Get your squad together and head out into the comments section below.
