When God Eater 3 was officially announced last year, publisher Bandai Namco didn't say which platforms it would be releasing on. We always assumed it'd be a PlayStation 4 title no matter what, and unsurprisingly, we were right. During a Japanese livestream that aired overnight, the company confirmed that it's coming to Sony's current-gen system.
What's more, it debuted 18 minutes of gameplay, which we've embedded above. It certainly looks more fluid than previous instalments, and there are some flashy visual effects going on. The action begins at 31:35, so we've started the video there. We expect to hear more about a release date in the near future, too -- at least in Japan.

I enjoyed God Eater Resurrection and God Eater 2 Rage Burst on vita, but with this skipping vita and Monster Hunter World being available on PS4 I can't say I'm interested.
Maybe if it came to Switch.
I wonder how this will fare in a post-Monster Hunter World. There's obviously a much bigger market for these kind of games now.
Looks good so far. I don't expect to like this as much as Monster Hunter World, but it could still be a lot of fun.

Could go either way. I could see more people giving this kind of game a chance now but after MHW expectations are going to be high and I'm just not sure the God Eater series can hit that same high standard. It's a very decent series but not in MH's class.
@Gamer83 Yeah, it doesn't look amazing in this video either. You could see with Monster Hunter: World that it was a massive leap from the 3DS versions; this still looks a little bit like a PS Vita game to me.

My thoughts too. Actually a shame it's not getting a Vita version.
@Fight_Teza_Fight? This over a Vita release nty.
Looks interesting. I'm hoping that it would fix some of the issues the previous games suffered such as matchmaking, difficulty and animations, but with MH:World out in the market, is hard to get excited. Plus, the combat seems to lack a bit of impact. Even Toukiden 2 had more impact.
I'm interested, this series is more sci-fi oriented than Monster Hunter, so that puts a different spin on things. It's not as if we are drowning in games with this format, not yet at least.
There are 3 fulltime gameplay trailers. 😁
