Wow, what a trailer this is. If you have any love for Dragon Ball, you're going to want to watch this. Featuring various recreated scenes from the original manga and anime, it's basically a fan's dream come true. And that music!
As if that wasn't enough, it also features our first look at Beerus, Hit, and Goku Black. Oh, and you know those recreated scenes? You actually get those in battle if you fulfil certain conditions. Arc System Works has gone the extra mile, it seems.
Dragon Ball FighterZ hits PlayStation 4 in just over a month, but are you hyped? Replay the trailer a dozen times in the comments section below.

I've watched this trailer about 10 times.
the 2nd DBZ ending theme being used for the trailer was a great touch, shame we wont get the music in the game unless we buy a special edition which you CAN'T get physically
and that SUCKS
bandai BETTER release it as DLC for everyone at a later date because i'm sick of not being able to get complete games just because you don't buy a certain version or buy from a certain place
I think this headline has some truth to it... I'm not hyped at all. I found this to be quite lame.
Those dragonballz just leave a salty taste in my mouth.
I never watched DBZ, always meant to find a way to binge it
#nerdshame
I was excited when this game was announced, hoping we'd get some Super characters in the game. But we get the dream team of Hit, Beerus, AND Goku Black??? Dang, man......this went from "I'll get it ASAP" to "DAY ONE, WORK THE EXTRA HOURS TO GET IT!"
Can't wait!!!!
In that case - 'Nothing' will....
The hype is real
@FuzzyYellowBalls Maybe it's because you prefer your Dragon Balls to be fuzzy and yellow?
That looks incredible. Shame I'm absolutely crap at fighting games!
Oh wow, looks amazing! If only Dragon Ball Super's anime looked this good. Anyways, what's the name of the song used in the trailer?
@Nickolaidas you know me too well, my friend. Sweet over savory.
@WanderingBullet I believe it's called Angel, not sure who it's by but it was used in the anime.
@WanderingBullet I think it was the episode end credits theme in the boo saga, back in the day.
I'm still not sure, do I buy this day 1 or day zero (preorder)
@WanderingBullet don't know what show your watching but Supers animation has been really good for quite a while
also the song is called We are Angels, it is the second DBZ ending theme and is sung by Hironobu Kageyama, the same guy who sings both Cha-La Head Cha-La and We got Power, the 2 DBZ intro songs
@KingdomHeartsFan Goku was so powerful he broke your internet ^_^
I pre-ordered this the moment I heard about it. I love fighting games. Been out of the Loop for some time. Very picky about what games I spend my cash on. Plus I plan to kick my friend's ass in this over and over again since he also plans to get it.
I love Dragon Ball but the special editions are all insanely expensive so I guess I will wait for a complete discounted edition.
@Nickolaidas @ShogunRok Thanks, guys.
@FullbringIchigo I didn't say it was bad (well, actually the first 13 or so episodes I watched kinda were below average). Can't comment on the episodes after that but the animation quality has certainly improved in current tournment arc. Thanks for the info on song.
@WanderingBullet yeah the first 2 arcs were rough but when you take into account it was an adaptation of the films done by a small team of rookie animators so the main animators can use the extra time to produce the new content it's understandable
they also fixed some of it for the home releases but yeah it was pretty bad to start with
not like the animation in Z was always great either, that was pretty bad at times especially during the Cell saga
EDIT: now i think on it the entire Z and GT series are full of bad animation but with a show produced weekly year round what do you expect
@FullbringIchigo This usually happens when you have a long running series like Dragon Ball, you usually get 2 animation studios doing the episodes, at the end of Dragon Ball Z this was particularly noticeable because it would happen every other episode.
@Mega-Gazz This game would be the perfect route then, it covers most of the plot points apparently.
@mookysam Same here, I'd probably end up watching the story mode on YouTube even if I did buy the game.
This is everything I wanted. I think this is the only fighting game I’ll buy Day one this gen. Can’t wait.
I loved BDZ about 25 years ago, now I just feel old looking at this. But for a game this really looks awesome.
for anyone wondering Bandai has CONFIRMED the game DOES have an english dub
also the trailer also shows that the music WILL be available as a standalone DLC (watch the english trailer when Goku and Frieza start fighting)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIhNFLVvJUk
(official UK version of the trailer)
@FullbringIchigo No info on the price for the music DLC yet, right?
@WanderingBullet no not yet i'm afraid
@FullbringIchigo Ok, thanks.
Can anyone confirm this, apparently the US physical versions doesn't come with the Open Beta Access if you pre-order it. Only the digital versions do. Whereas you can get access to the Open Beta if you pre-order the UK physical version.
Edit: Sorry, I meant to say "early access to the open beta" not open beta access.
@WanderingBullet if i remember correctly U.S players have to sign up for the beta on the Bandai Namco website
@FullbringIchigo I could be wrong but I think the signing up was for the Closed Beta only.
@WanderingBullet maybe but if so then you will just have to wait for the Open Beta next month
