Ever wondered how hard it is to make video games and, perhaps more pertinently, why? A new book by Kotaku scribe Jason Schreier aims to answer that question with a slew of case studies, ranging from Destiny and Stardew Valley through to Uncharted 4: A Thief's End. The latter will hopefully shed a little light on what went wrong with the project early on, culminating in the departure of series creator Amy Hennig.
Other stories will include Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Shovel Knight, Star Wars 1313, and more. The book's set to release on 5th September, and you can pre-order now from Amazon. We'll definitely be giving this one a read.

Pre-ordered!
I love stuff like this. Part of me would love to make the switch to gaming projects but then I also like to see my family and having some semblance of job security!
Look good but I only want to know about uncharted 4 development stories. Already preordered the last guardian book (The Last Guardian: An Extraordinary Story).
@get2sammyb Will the book explain why Elena can go over and knock out a heavily armored man w/ 1 punch - I saw it happen last night during the ambush in chptr 18, very reminiscent of the submarine hangar in U1 - - that it takes me several dozen rounds of ammo to take out? I practically need a grenade every time for that guy in the yellow polo-shirt.
@rjejr I'm going to guess not.
It'll be a bunch of half-truths and nothing really interesting. I'd love to be wrong, and I'd love to know the real reason Amy Hennig was let go (I still refuse to believe the nonsensical company line that she voluntarily left a project that was the culmination of all her hard work) but it isn't going to happen.
