An intriguing little detail emerging from the PlayStation Meeting, it turns out that Mass Effect: Andromeda's main character, Ryder, will have a brother or sister depending on whether you decide to play as a male or female protagonist. In other words, both Ryders will exist within the game.
Speaking to PlayStation Access, BioWare creative director Mac Walters spills the beans: "what a lot of people don't know - little surprise here - is that [male and female Ryder] are brother and sister, and they both exist in the game world at the same time." Walters adds: "So if you're playing as the sister Ryder, the female Ryder, then your brother's somewhere in the universe."
Delving even further down the family tree, Walters also reveals that the guy wearing N7 armour in the CG trailer from a few years ago is actually the father of the two Ryders. We're definitely sensing a plot that involves either finding your dad, or finishing what he started.
What do you make of this? Do you get enough hassle from your siblings in real life? Be a big happy family in the comments section below.

Details really can make a game shine
I watched the 4k video yesterday of this and the characters seem weirdly proportioned. The heads look slightly too big for their bodies which creates a weird look to me...
Hopefully it's done better than the whole Hawke/Carver/Bethany thing in Dragon Age 2. It was an interesting idea even then but the 2 siblings were just too boring to pull it off.
Have to admit though: the conversations with your mother while playing the spacer background in ME1-3 were always a nice touch, and something I would have liked a little more of. Looking forward to getting a lot more detail about the game in general.
I all ready know I'm going female my first go around.
sounds like a good idea really, both are canon so there is no arguing over which one is the real one
I wonder if the non playable sibling will play a big part in the plot or will just get mentioned in vague terms.
I don't know if this was mentioned in a previous article but November 7th or N7 day will see a big information blowout on the game.
@BAMozzy not watched the video but I can say this when ever I tried to create a character in the mass effect games they always ended up looking weird and I went with default options. This is currently one of only a couple of PS4 none VR games I plan on getting in 2017.
