Last month, we reported on a trademark for something called Fallout: New Orleans. Almost as soon as the news got out, the 'net was awash in speculation, with many hoping and praying that Bethesda was going to allow another studio to have a crack at the Fallout franchise, much like Obsidian did with Fallout: New Vegas on the PlayStation 3.
Since then, we're sure that Bethesda's been bombarded with questions regarding the supposed trademark, but only now has the company really spoke up about the situation - well, kind of.
In an interview with Metro, VP of PR and marketing Pete Hines simply stated that "we don't comment on trademarks and rumours," when asked about New Orleans. When pressed for any more information, Hines added: "whenever anyone asks about trademarks we don't ever say, 'Yes, that's us' or 'No, it's not'. Whether it's real or it's not real."

99% of the cases a developer said such a thing it ended up being real. If it really wasn't them they would have made that clear even though they say they wouldn't.
Let's hope they give Matthew Perry some dialogue in this one.

Fallout New Vegas is the best 3D-Fallout game bar none. Obsidian knows what it takes to make an succesfull RPG. Fallout 4 was the biggest letdown of 2015. Good game but a bad Fallout game.

A new Fallout game next year would have the same 2 year time as between 3 and NV. So very possible for a fall 2017 release after a reveal at E3.
A new game yes, but New Orleans a big NOOOOOOO!!! Mafia 3 will provide the New Orleans i want to experience. With a Fallout N.O. i see more of Far Harbor with foggy swamps and probably frame rate problems.
For the next Fallout i would like a northern location with a winter season featured. Some of the creatures there could be huge polar and grizzly bears, rad beavers, and mutated wolverines of abnormal large size.
All the people wanting Obsidian to be the developer must be forgetting how New Vegas was borderline unplayable when it launched. Granted once it was patched it was a great game.

Obsidian made the best fallout out of the Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Fallout 4. Coincidentally, Bethesda made the other two. I'd like if they pull a dynamic where obsidian sticks to the West coast and Bethesda in the East.
Also as others have said, choice should matter. Not being "wholly" evil, but only opportunistic really dampers ones wants. I was down right evil in Previous games, so them removing it made me feel like I was a good human being...very unpleasant.
