All of the Uncharted games thus far have had a historical foundation within which Naughty Dog has inserted its fiction, and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is no different. While a chunk of the title's backstory was pieced together back when it was first announced, the developer confirmed during a press event this week that protagonist Nate will be searching for Henry Every's haul.
The Brit is famous for rising to prominence as a pirate in the late 17th century, as he triggered the first international manhunt when he plundered the Mughal Empire's flagship vessel. However, famously, just two years after achieving fame and fortune, he disappeared, never to be seen again. Until now, of course, as Drake will be tracking the sailor – and his untold riches.

Man, you're putting out some quality stuff, @get2sammyb! Didn't know about the historical context behind this outing of Nathan Drake, so thanks for the info. Really enjoyed your other videos too!
@get2sammyb plot twist: He's actually not going to take anything - he's going to find out something has gone terribly wrong with some ancient treasure, lead bad guys to it, realize he has to destroy it/bury it, go home empty handed.
I call this the Uncharted Formula v4.0, who needs new stories anyway?
@DrJoeystein Thanks Joey!
I thought the treasure would be Ubisoft's artwork.
