Home Free PS4 PlayStation 4 1

It's quite easy to make it big as an indie developer: create something so barmy that PewDiePie will have no choice but to share it with his audience of millions. Home Free – an open world game in which you take control of a dog – seems to fit the bill. Already fully funded on Kickstarter and now confirmed for the PlayStation 4, the title puts you in charge of a canine in a randomly generated city, where you must scavenge for food, find shelter, and sniff lots of butts.

As silly as it sounds, we reckon that this is shaping up nicely. The gameplay's been inspired by PlayStation 2 "classic" Dog's Life, while the neon art style has clearly been influenced by Jet Set Radio. There's a splash of Tokyo Jungle on display, too. And you can help to fund the development by pre-ordering a digital copy for your PS4 via Kickstarter right now. The title will cost you $20 for the console version, though there are some more expensive tiers if you fancy appearing in the game as well.

We must admit, we're rather taken with this concept, and the gameplay footage looks great. The next Stretch Goal on the crowd funding campaign will see cats added to the mix, which should be fun. The title's targeting a late 2016 release, so there's still a way to go. If you need to know more about the four-legged foray, however, check out the trailer embedded below.
